• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Now what!?! - Won't start

I have not had this happen when starting but I did hit the kill switch going down the road. Talk about a wake up.

So have I. When I put on the cruse Control, sometimes I get too relaxed and rest my hand on top of the handlebar. Right where the kill switch is. I almost panicked the first time it happened. It happened again not too soon afterward. I never learn sometimes.nojoke

Having said that, I agree with Mr.Denman and the eminent Mr. Bovine.

 How did Billy get to be so... "eminent"?

After feeling like an idiot twice, I now put the kill switch back into its original position the second my engine cuts off. Haven't made a fool of myself since ..... at least not because of my kill switch. :D

kill switch

The first time it happened to me I almost got on SL and ask why my spyder would not start but remembered the kill switch witch is that was all the problem was:banghead:

Why is it called the Kill switch anyway. It needs to be the suicide switch.:dontknow::roflblack::dontknow:

Cause I wanted to use the word eminent and I didn't know how to make it plural.
I flipped a coin and Bovine got it.

:D He's earned the Title, with insightful advice about the bikes...
I'm not fit to carry his lunchbox; much less his toolbox!

You had it all perfectly correct! :firstplace:

It will get just about everybody at some point in time and learning from it is called "experience".

Probably still happens but in group rides the "experienced" riders used to pick on the newby by hitting their kill switch during a break stop. Then they would laugh among themselves watching the inexperienced rider panic while trying to figure out why their bike wouldn't start.

Once hit my kill switch accidentally while riding my Yamaha Midnight Venture down a highway. I realized what I had done but instead of guiding it to a stop and starting it properly, I turned the kill switch back on and hit the starter while still in gear and moving. Man, that backfire scared the :cus: out of me. Won't do that again.
