• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Noticeable vibrations...

Maybe one of the tires is out of high speed balance because one of the weights fell off the inside of the rim. Check to see if there is sticky tape but no weights

It is definitely coming from behind me, I will check the rims for weights tho, thats a good idea. I am leaning more towards belt vibrations at this point. I am thinking that the tensioner will help

The 'tensioner' I made and no doubt the one Capt Jim supplies, doesn't actually increase the belt tension to any measurable degree. It simply runs on the belt with minimal pressure preventing it from slapping, which is that unpleasant vibration we feel - well, some of us don't any longer.

I am saving up to get one, it's not that big of a deal, just bugs me. Plus I figure the tensioner would actually increase the life of the belt.

I used one of these to solve the problem with a 70mm flat auto idler and made a plate for 'tensioner' to mount on the swingarm and made up a bush for the pulley bearing. It's a bit more compact than the other one. Work perfectly - no more belt vibe :2thumbs: and I just LOVE that.

[/QUOTE looks good, where there's a will, there's a way! Nessecity is the mother of invention!

This interests me, if it reduces vibration...I really do dislike the rough ride around certain speed ranges...annoys the crud out of me!

However, I would never try this install myself...I'm lucky to do the basic stuff.

We'd have to meet-up at some point to do this mod.

belt tensioner

I bought and installed the tensioner from capt Jim. It was very well designed and easy to mount. Just 2 bolts over the swing-arm. You do need to remove the belt guard and trim it slightly. The trimmed portion is not noticeable. You will be very happy with the results. Minimal vibration during acceleration through speed zone, nothing like before the installation. Perhaps adding a little more tension and that will also be eliminated.
