• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I will get rid of it even at a loss just to get where I wanna b and THATS THE OPEN ROAD IN THE WIND

Sorry about your problems. The "ringing" noise is normal. It's the throttle body. Power stays on the throttle body to keep it open for a short time so it doesn't slam shut. Don't know what your other issues are.

I agree . . . .

. . . bikes belong on the road.

If you don't like like your RT and the experience, you should be posting in the For Sale section.

If you are just on a rant and blowing off steam, ok. If not, have your keyboard checked, I think your Caps Lock is faulty.

So is there someone on here that you expect to fix this up for you? Or have you discussed this with your dealer?
Sorry to hear you have had issues, I have owned 4 Spyders and any issues I have had, that have been mainly minor,
but when I took it to my dealer they sorted it ASAP

How about if you tell us how you really feel?

Hmmm, Sounds like you may have just needed to rant a while. Hope you feel better after that. But let's take those issues one at a time....

ITS BEEN IN SHOP TWICE - Doesn't seem too bad, depending on what it went in for, and how long it was there - especially if it's under warranty.

NOW A RECALL - That's actually a GOOD thing. I assume you have an RT. They are going to make it better, once the parts are in around May. You'll find that BRP is fairly generous with correcting any issues under warranty. They also issue Warranty Bulletins to fix things you didn't even know was wrong.

I HAVE A RINGING NOISE THAT WONT GO AWAY AFTER I SHUT IT OFF - I've never heard this, but if it's just a few seconds, Bruiser addressed that. You didn't mention the duration of the sound. If it's longer than a few seconds, I'm sure someone here (or your dealer) can help you identify it.

I DONT CARE IF ITS PAID OFF AND THE WARRANTY IS TAKEN CARE OF MOST OF THE ISSUES AT NO COST TO ME I DONT CARE!!!!! I will get rid of it even at a loss just to get where I wanna b and THATS THE OPEN ROAD IN THE WIND - Sounds like a plan, if that's what's going to make you happy. Otherwise, I'd hang in there a while and get the issues sorted out. There's plenty of help available to you on this forum, if that is your choice.

FWIW, I also have a 2013 RT that has been in the shop a few times, but I love riding mine and I still get all the "wind therapy" I want on it. I've also enjoyed making it a lot better than it was on the day I bought it. Best of luck to you with your Spyder.

High Pitch sound?

SINCE I BOUGHT MY NEW 2013 LEFTOVER IN JUNE OF LAST YR I HAVE 1800 MILES ON IT AND ITS BEEN IN SHOP TWICE,NOW A RECALL AND I HAVE A RINGING NOISE THAT WONT GO AWAY AFTER I SHUT IT OFF.COME ON IVE HAD 6 DIFF BIKES AND I HAVE NEVER HAD SO MANY ISSUES WITH A BIKE.AFTER THIS TWO FIXES IF IT GIVES ME ANY MORE PROBLEMS"ISSUES" I DONT CARE IF ITS PAID OFF AND THE WARRANTY IS TAKEN CARE OF MOST OF THE ISSUES AT NO COST TO ME I DONT CARE!!!!! Don't know if this will help pick you up but the sound you are hearing in normal. :banghead: Mine was doing the same thing, took it in for service and told the dealer something wasn't right, that I was hearing a high pitch sound for 20 to 30 minutes after shutting off. Left Bike, got on Spyderlovers and asked for help. And did I ever get help. Fellow member told me to look on page 55 right hand column of owners manual under the words ALL MODELS****THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH AN ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL(ETC) EACH TIME THE IGNITION SWITCH IS TURNED OFF, THE ETC MOTOR STAYS ENERGIZED FOR 40 MINUTES. THE ETC MOTOR WILL EMIT A HIGH FREQUENCY SOUND DURING THIS PERIOD OF TIME THAT CAN BE HEARD IN A QUIET ENVIRONMENT. THIS IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE.:ohyea::ohyea:

NEVER EVER GIVE UP!!!

Guess I was wrong, when I said "a few seconds" (above). I've NEVER heard anything like that on my Spyder. Never seen any posts about it before, either. I just hear the fan running a few seconds to cool it down.

My wife is always complaining about our car "making little sounds" that I can't hear also. My theory is "if I don't hear it, it's NOT a problem". ;)

All of the above...

the above explain your issues. Gotta say there is more to it then that though. I am sensing you are not happy with the roadster at all and this is just an exuse. If you have been reading this site you would see that your problems are not really that much an issue. If it is not what you expected by all means get rid of it.

Two minor issues with a high performance machine and you are ready to call it quits. Could this be Buyers Remorse instead of issues with your new ride?

I am not here to judge but to only say that I agree with you, you deserve the right to be HAPPY with your bike and investment. If you are truly unhappy, then you should sell it or trade it in on something that will make you happy to see in your garage, that will bring many smiles during the miles, and that you will be proud to own. If you are still interested in the Spyders, you should really consider the 2014 or 2015 model RTs. Hoping the smiles return soon.

Webbly1969 I know how you feel. I've been researching the lemon law and if things don't get better with my spyder after the next trip to the shop, I may decide to pull the trigger and implement the law in my situation. Good money paid for a product with continual problems is not a good deal. I'm willing to have issues dealt with and fixed but, not over and over until you lose trust in the machine and that in a 200 mile trip something will go wrong. Check out the lemon law in your state. When my spyder is working well it's a great ride and I love it. But with every tank full now the limp mode comes on and fun is over. :gaah::banghead::gaah::banghead:
