• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Not to be a downer, But why do we have to spend so much time and money on the spyder to try to get it to run right? If you spent that much money on a new car and it ran like that you would return it. We already spent good money on it. Why has BRP put out a product that would run like that. I just have heard so many complaint's. Now, I love my spyder. It is so cool. Just need to be happy with the way it run's.That's all.

i was a mechanic before i opened tattoo shop ... and saw many cars that people had bought that had issues ...i bought a harley years back it was back to dealer so many times the last time i told them to put it on the floor and sell it .....so it's not just the spyder .....

BRP is a company that likes to have the customers be the R&D. It's the same with the snowmobiles, atv's, seadoo's. The appeal to them is usually cutting edge performance. From the research I've been doing lately, the Spyder does seem excessive for a first batch. I'm sure there has been quite a few people walk away once they get on these forums. Hopefully Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda jump onboard with this segment.

Every one of my buddies who ride will tell you that more people on forums post complaints, b---h, vent, whatever more often than people who have no issues. So the perception easily becomes one of dissent. That's not to say the complaints aren't valid, it's just that those types of posts appear to be more frequent.

The reality is (IMHO), most :spyder: owners are quite happy with their ride and don't spend their time writing rah-rah posts ;) My :spyder: has been performing as expected. Even the brake squeal problem I had has ceased permanently since I greased the back of the pads and reset the alignment.

It's all good.

Perhaps I am lucky . . . I have not spent any money to make my Spyder run right -- and I believe that however many thousands have been sold the vast majority also are running just fine.

From all the reading on both websites, I think that the majority of folks with issues have tinkered with their Spyder -- to their detriment.

Lots of the money (my money) has been spent to fit the bike to the person and their style of riding. One person wants more of a touring machine, one more of a sport machine, and some just want to express their individuality. The Spyder really does not "need more power" some just "want" more power. I just put two brothers pipes on mine it did not need them I just thought they looked and sounded cool. Nothing wrong with the paint job I just wanted cool graphics so mine does not look like every other silver and black one. I have not read of anyone spending a fortune on anything because the needed to. Of course the majority of the Spyders are still under warranty. So we will see down the road.:spyder2:

My Spyder has always ran good, now it runs even better with the mods I've done.

Forums are a great place to complain and vent, it's like the doctors office, nobody goes to the doctor to tell the doc how good they feel. :doorag:

I for one have had to spend a bit of money in getting things fixed but I ALWAYS keep in perspective that I am riding something that truely will revolutionize the motorcycle/open air riding industry and is on the cutting edge. On top of all that it is incredibly fun to ride, I almost crave the strange looks you get and the never ending questions and I love the fact that there are so few on the road compared to other motorcycles and that makes it even better !!! So yes I have had a few issues but when I keep it all in perspective...I am one happy camper !!!
