• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Not much outrage regarding the YouTube shooter

Cell phones are not allowed in prison. They are small and easily concealed, allowing them to be smuggled in just as any other contraband.

You are correct that they're illegal but guns and knives are also small (or can be) and how many of THOSE were in that prison? There were so many cell phones in that prison that the prisoners were sharing video with the CBS reporter and sending texts out of the prison. When you have that many cell phones, the only logical conclusion is that the cell phones were either condoned or tolerated. This from CBS: "The sheer number of illegal cellphones being smuggled into the state prisons [note emphasis on "prisonS"] points to the collusion of prison guards." And THAT implies that the warden and supervisory personnel were turning a blind eye to it or they would have ordered the guards to search everything and confiscate all the cell phones. See https://www.cbsnews.com/news/south-...ly-to-blame-for-spike-in-s-c-prison-violence/

And I can't help but notice that cell phones were the ONLY thing you folks could contradict in my so-called "diatribe."

While I do agree with your point: I think that by making it less desirable to be locked-up; might cut the recidivism rate.
There are any number of case studies that demonstrate amply that the threat of incarceration, even death, is not a deterrent. Recidivism rate will go down only when we do more to help former inmates transition to a productive life. But, that's expensive and we'd rather just keep thinking we can solve it by making prison less attractive. Hasn't worked ever since there were prisons.

There's no argument against the fact that applying the death penalty as often as possible; helps to cut the chances for repeat boarding at the local jail... :D

To bad the statistics say otherwise.......nojoke

Take a close look at Sheriff Joe Arpaio's Tent City (just ended operation after about 20 years). He made it as miserable as possible for those inmates, fed them green balogna sandwiches, let them freeze in the winter and boil in the summer and told them if they didn't like it then don't come back.

Tent City was always full.

must of been water skiing all winter in Flagstaff. Another post without thinking or doing something simple like GOOGLE.

Or you get really smart and know the Tent City is in Phoenix....... Low temp in January is 46.
Read a book .......

That's not what you said;

Do you think we are fools ?????????? Nobody freezes in AZ............. :lecturef_smilie:

Read your own posts - this is what we were responding to. As usual an overly-generalized statement that happens to be WRONG.

I lived there for over six years. Yes it can get cold enough to have frost on the windshield or snow on the ground. We had snow a couple of times while we were there. One of the local radio stations joked that the ski slope was open on The Superstition Mountains. People started calling in for info. The Superstition Mountains are almost straight up and down on the West side. Plus we just had about a half inch of snow.😂

Or get smart and realize Phoenix is a city, Arizona is a state. There is a difference you know. You do know Arizona has mountains. It even has the Grand Canyon. I send you the books.....with lots of pictures. :D

That's complete nonsense.nojoke

NONSENSE ? ... u think banning guns/ammo will change anything ?? Chicago has A "COMPLETSE GUN BAN" .. that should make it one of the safest city's in the U.S. .. they average at least 12 killings a WEEKEND ... guess you prefer a NATZI style government hun ? don't you know that over 60 MILLION citizens were murdered by their own government .. people did not have any to protect them selves ... would you willingly board one of HITLERS boxcars ?

do you think 60 MILLION .. yes 60 million people were murdered by their own countries... because they did not have the means to protect themselves from their own government.... look it up..... ITS... FACT ... Germany ... China .. top 2 ..
And neither will you, no matter how many guns you have, if the government decides to come after you. THINK about it; you're going to fight off the world's most powerful military, the police, the National Guard and the secret police? Ridiculous!!! nojoke
