• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Not everyone can drive a Spyder.

At a stop light today in northern Flarda (mouthpiece description). A guy yells at me.......I have had two of those Spyders...put 300 miles on one and 30 miles on the other.... went out and bought a HD. buy a Harley he says... I simply said not everyone can handle a Spyder.

And he's still trying to think of another comeback :roflblack:

Went to a local festival today. We pulled in and parked. Guy walks up and says "convince me why I should by one of those". I said, " why should I convince you, either you're going to buy one or not".

Good one Denny! I still like the time we were at Grills and the Harley guy said he didn't want to see the Spyders in the motorcycle parking area anymore and you told him "no problem, just don't come down here anymore"

Way to "bust his chops" (Not a Flarda expression). Many times I've left the key in my spyder with both the kill switch and park break on. My thinking was that most who would be foolish to try, just couldn't handle how to either start it, get it in reverse or ride it.

On a side note I spell it Flarda because most native Floridians over 55 pronounce
Florida that way (not many of us around).

if I had been quick enough with the comeback, it might have been--"why 300 miles? did you only own it for one day?:roflblack:

When I lived in Atlanta, we saw lots of Florida plate on cars of those who "moved north" for the summer. On the Atlanta freeways, they were known as "Floridiots!" ;)

Since about 85% of the people who live in Flarda and have Flarda plates are from up north, then ya'll are probably right. <ducking>

Ha! Yeah... you have to love the comebacks you could have said. Just keep them in memory in case you need to use them again.

I do not have too many of these experiences with idiots... but did have one. Similar to yours. The car was in the left lane with this guy in the passenger seat and he made the comment. I told him I used to own a motorcycle until my accident which took-off my right leg. Now I ride my Spyder. (He couldn't see my right leg to know if I had one or not.)

His wife/girlfriend/whoever hit the gas and nearly jumped the red light... and I swear to God she was punching his left arm while yelling at him. I just laughed till I cried...:roflblack:

People are idiots. I told my friend I'm thinking of buying a Spyder and he's like "dude those are for women, everyone makes fun of them! You won't even be a motorcyclist. Get a real bike!"

People get jealous. Bottom line.

I had a guy walk up to me and tell me "I would never ride a spyder because I would only ever ride a Harley Davidson".

I asked him, "So you have never even tried a spyder?"

He puffed up his chest and proudly proclaimed, "Hell no"

Then I explained to him, "See, I rode a Harley Davidson sport bob around for a day, then I rode a spyder around for about an hour. When I finished riding around on both machines I decided I wanted to buy the one with the power, not the one that all the other sheep were buying."

And then there was a long uncomfortable (for him) silence..............

Just sayin'............

I always like to see the "hard core biker" types pulling their factory HD Customs on a trailer with a $40,000 Pick Up to a rally. And then telling me at the same rally (which I rode to) that I am not a real motorcyclist due to my riding a Spyder!
