• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I got the dreaded broken gas cap tonight :banghead: on my 2014 RT-S.The gas cap just would spin in either direction freely. Thank god I was home to use my large channel locks to break/remove the gas cap.I had like no gas in the tank to ride to the dealers to remove the cap.I called my dealer and they said bring the broken cap in tomorrow and they have replacements in stock.Better to happen at home then on the road.I just hope the new gas cap is years of trouble free service

That's why I carry tools in the frunk. One never knows when or where something bad will happen. But Murphey's Law says when ever it is the least expected, least wanted and most inconvenient. Glad you posted so I know what to do when it happens to me. I too ride a 2014 RTL.

Just a thought how many miles do/did you have?

I just went out and traded my Honda Van gas cap (2003) fits the same, and I have 145K on the van. The Honda cap is all plastic too, it looks like BRP just goes cheap plastic.

If you have an Advance Auto parts or Pep boys near you pick-up Stant gas cap #10835 at Advance or 11835 at Pep boys. I've been using this cap over a year without any problems. I keep the OE as a souvenir :roflblack::roflblack:. Another member I ride with just put this cap on after his failed a few weeks ago.

I guess this is common?

Looks Like A Good Part To Carry As A Spare!

Guess I'll get another cap to carry as a spare part . . . I also carry a spare dipstick, after inadvertently cross-threading one, once. It was really hot, and the plastic must have been softened, some, because I didn't feel it cross-thread. Ordered two when I replaced it so I'd have a spare on hand if I did that, again.

The Stant replacement has a better design that avoids the problem. As you unscrew the cap, the first quarter turn relieves any internal pressure or vacuum allowing the seal and cap to come off without difficulty.

Anyone know the Stant part number for the 2013 RT cap? Stant's web site doesn't list CanAm Roadster products and I see that the BRP part number for the 2013 RT and the 2014 RT are different . . . :banghead:
