• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Amazon is opening a new distribution/fulfillment center in Greenwood, IN also; but not till 2020.
Wishing you the best now and in the future, wherever your new job takes you. Glad you're getting a severance package for a temporary financial
safety net. All the media is focusing on is the low unemployment rate; but downsizing and business closings are continuing to happen at a rapid rate.
Mike[/QUOTE I am staying in Vermont, because of family, and Adrien, ( my significant other).

DEE,
I'm glad to hear that you're getting a severence package...
Will they allow you to help choose the body parts that they sever from the nit-wit that made the decision to close your plant? :joke:

I wish, also I would give them a piece of my mind. It will take me a long time to get over what has happened.

I was veteran there, worked there for 19 years, and I was hoping to retire from there, BUT that is not going to happen!!!!!!

There are several other people that have worked there( 2 each @ 26 years, me @ 19 years, 2 more @ 22 years each, 3 @ 18 years, ) that have more years of service then me.

They are also closing a distribution center, next to the plant.

D, I just saw this post. I know you will find a good job soon. Best of luck. Bruce and Suzanne.
Bruce and Suzanne, I have my feelers out for jobs.

Next week I am sending a resume, application, cover letter to an employer ( they aren't going to start hiring until Jan.) Also, this week-end I am going to apply for several jobs ( on-line), tonight I've already submitted my resume, just waiting to hear from the H.R. Recruiter ( it is a manufacturing job in my area, and they have a very large military contract to fill right off, so they will be hiring a lot of people, and the $$$ is good, with great benefits( the benefits start on the day of hire, it has a 100% ESOP), they have medical, dental, vision benefits.

More info to come, when I have the time to post.
Deanna

I'm so sorry to hear this news for you, D.

Thanks, I am thinking about staying in the manufacturing sector.

They are giving us 2 months to find work. My cut off date is Jan 4th, 2019, and I have 6 more years until retirement.

When I have more info. I'll post. It has been very stressful.

Deanna

As they say: Life is what happens when you're making other plans. Whenever I encountered some adversity my Dad would tell me it builds character. Though this is, understandably, very stressful for you, I see you already have hit the road with what you need to do - resumes, applications, etc. Action, for me, is the best antidote to stress.

I'm praying your job search will be short and you can take that severance money and have some fun with it.

If you're getting interviews: it's only a matter of time before somebody recognizes your talent...
Keep plugging away, and good things WILL happen!

AND employers wonder why there's NO LOYALTY from employees anymore????? The children of the baby boomers saw/lived what their parents/aunts/uncles went/going through. This is the result of the sole focus is on the bottom line. If the bottom line isn't large enough, people get laid off, or businesses shutter their doors.

I am commuted to the company until Jan. 4th ,2019. I'll be available to work on Jan. 7th, 2019( Monday).

I am helping decommission the equipment. If I leave before Jan, 4th I forfeit my severance package.

So I have to stay on board until Jan. 4th, 2019.

Pete & Mike,
This thread is about Deanna: not about business and/or political "theologies"...
Let's head in another direction... please?

Dear Bob, I think it would be nice if you IDENTIFIED the " Mike " you are referring to in a more EXACT manner...? I haven't posted anything on this THREAD...? I just spent 7 weeks in the Time-out Box, so I don't want someone mis-taking me for whoever you are referring to ?. Thank you ?.Mike

Relax... it wasn't about you, and MikeT's post did disappear.
You're not my only friend named "Mike"... :D

But this is Deanna's thread about a stressful time in her Life: let's leave it for that purpose...
