• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

No guts No glory this year for sure

I had word a couple of days ago that this might happen but now it's pretty much official. I can't tell you how disappointed I am right now but in some ways relieved so I can make other plans. Thank you all for your support and maybe next year we can get a few more Spyders involved.

To the riders in the Guts & Glory Rally:

It is with deep sadness that I write to you all today. As I have said to
each of you on the phone over the past 2 days, we have been forced to
postpone the Guts & Glory Rally Across America until May 13-26 of 2012 due
to pending litigation with the Hoka Hey Challenge / Medicine Show Land
Trust.

We will have refund checks out to each of you that have requested a refund
within 2-3 weeks.

THANK YOU all for the support and faith you have given both G&G Motorsports
and our cause and we pray that you will all continue to support the Guts &
Glory Rally as we defend our right to stage a motorcycle event in America
and support our Veterans and the Shrine children while doing so.

Please stay tuned to the website, which will have updated information over
the next few weeks.

We look forward to seeing you all in Los Angeles in May of 2012.

All the Best,

Robert

Bummer,, and of course the real hit goes to the charities who would have benefited greatly from this event.

Sorry to hear this Lamont. I know you must be very disappointed about this anouncement. We were looking forward to your postings on this trip. OH WELL........ *#@& happens :gaah:

Looks like legal troubles are affecting a lot of things. What a bummer. I knew you were psyced for this. :gaah::mad:

I don't get why Mr. White decided to back down from this scam artist behind a "threat" of litigation. But obviously there is much going on behind the headlines that are not for public consumption so it's not for me to say. Yet another blow to our wounded Vets. Pretty sad. Hope they get it resolved.

Seems like they stopped a ride for charity for a ride for profit. Also, a Harley exclusive ride has prevented the Guts and Glory ride from being an open (anyone can ride with any motorcycle make, model, or design) event. Nuff said. Is that what I have gotten out of this?

We discussed the Hoka Hey in detail last summer. The last I heard, the people who won were supposed to have received their checks at Sturgis. It now sounds like the Indian nation that was supposed to benefit from the proceeds, or management from the race, now have some kind of lawsuit going. Anyone have any additional details.:popcorn:

I am not familiar enough with this situation to comment. Other than offering a man hug to the vets and those who worked to start and keep this going.

***Warning*** Not a politically correct response... This is crap.

Facts:
1. Hookah Hey doesn't allow Spyders to compete.
2. IBA Rally doesn't allow Spyders to compete.
3. BRP doesn't organize a completion for Spyders.
4. Guts & Glory postponed.

Sounds like you need to become an organizer Doc.. You can probably drum up a following next week in Cuba..

With all due respect, I have to disagree with #2. I have personally corresponded with Mike Kneebone about three wheels participating in the Iron Butt Rally. He stated that three wheels (conventional trike, Spyder, whatever) are welcome to take part in the IBR. They just can't be "enclosed" like some of the highly modified trikes are. I was planning on applying for the 2011 Iron Butt Rally last fall (as a Spyder Ryder), but decided not to do so due to financial concerns. Bottom line, Spyders (unenclosed three-wheelers) CAN participate in the Iron Butt Rally - direct from Mike Kneebone.:yes::yes::yes::yes: Still, it's a horrible travesty what happened to the G&G Rally.

Thanks for the update. It was a no go in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Very good to know and my apology to Mike Kneebone and IBA.:opps:
