I don't like the fact that widens the bars by 2". I may take an inch off the "bar cover" to bring the bars in closer together. I don't have a PE so the cover is just a cover. I thing if I bring in the bars 2" it'll handle slow speed turning better and make the cables an inch better on each side. Throttle is tight with the 4" risers in a full left turn.

I have the 3 inch risers (with no BRP riser) and I am 6' 2". It's a very, very good mod. In fact, I'm still getting used to NOT having weight on my wrists! It also has a bit of adjustability, which, of course, was not possible with stock. It looks clean, like it belongs, and I wouldn't be surprised if BRP does something like this in future incarnations of the Spyder...

The ridged cap screw issue seems to have been resolved, so it'll take even less time for you than it did for those of us who installed the first batch.

I rank this up there with mirror extensions and highway pegs as top three mods one can easily do.

Best Mod Yet

:2thumbs::yes::firstplace:Best mod yet 6' 1" risers are set 90 deg on angle finder. Much easer on back and wrists.Handles much better in moutains. Thanks Magic

I'm 5'3 and I like the risers quite a bit so far. The only disadvantage is that I think I'm going to need the mirror extenders since the mirrors now show me a very good view of my hands. I'm still playing with the position of the bars a bit though, so maybe I can fix that a bit more.

I agree Beka, I told bjt that now I need the mirror extensions. I have my handlebars where I want them and I can see my hands and grips just perfectly. I love this mod enough to deal with it though or to buy one more mod with the extensions. The difference for me is amazing. I had a chance for a three hour ride on Friday and going back home tomorrow and wow, the comfort level difference is tremendous. After I get my Russell Day Long seat, it will be even harder to keep me off my spyder.

Don't suppose I could get the link to mirror extensions and Russell Day long??

Thanks...

Ah .. I have the 4" risers and I am 6'2" and a little bit, and they work for me.

I would wait on your decision. Then you can choose amongst the 3 players. Trust me.

I love the extensions. I even find that I can see more behind me in my mirrors. I do see my hands in the mirrors but they are at the top of the mirrors and before they were right in the middle. I thought of taking the 1 inch riser from BRP off but left it on and these 3 inch risers seem to work well lock to lock. No binding on the throttle but some pull on the clutch safety switch wire. Someone mentioned the ridged bolts, ha ha, I got one out of 4 and didn't notice it till I tried to touque it down. I also got one of the handles that wasn't machined all the way around to fit into the riser and had to file it till it did. After some fiddlin, they are on and just love the feel and comfort level and yes it does seem to turn better. I like aggresive turns and aways had to reach for the bars when leaning and now it is so much easier. This Mod is the best. BRP should have come out with adjustable bars that could go forward or bachward to accomodate different drivers, bo hoo to them. I haven't been on an extended drive yet but think this mod might help my leg cramping.

Wider bars make it handle better at slow speed, that's why the Boss Hoss has big ol Beach Bars and not Drag Bars on them.

Throttle cables should be loose at full left turn. I think you're having the same trouble I had the other night with high side and low side. :opps:

It looks like a couple of people beat me to the answers but at least you have your information now.
