• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Nitpicking the 2024 RT

I liked the new controls. The high beam switch is now where the former flash-to-pass/BRP Connect switch was. The big reverse button is gone, replaced by a more easily operated, smaller button. Rolling the throttle forward is the new "mode" switch. I'm still not convinced the touch screen dash is necessary, but the larger size is nice.

The rolling the throttle is the replacement for the left-hand top button to select reverse. Not sure where the mode button is, but it is not part on the throttle. Parking brake is on the right side now, and the starter is part of the kill button features(start/run/kill). No more getting caught by the "red" button got turned off.

I'm picking up a new 2024 Sea to Sky today in Cartersville GA. Will give my impressions and thoughts after the 40 mile ride home. Seems as if the new controls may be a bit different than my 2019 RT Limited or my 2023 Sea to Sky...

There is no mode button. You turn on key wait for screen to boot up and a message appears saying something about the safety card. At this point you roll the throttle forward and the screen goes to gage mode and you can start bike using what used to be the kill switch. You don't have to hold the throttle in the forward position to start but you do when shifting to reverse. I have a little over 300 miles on mine and still have think about it when starting the bike. I suppose I will get used to it someday.

Ah... thank you very much for the quick primer. That is different.... lol. I'm gonna make the dealer pair the Samsung to the bike. After watching that, I will pair up my Sena 50S comms. Don't have Apples so lack of Carplay is not an issue.

Does Google Maps work well with the new 2024's?

Well as promised but only one teaser pic...

It should work fine when CarPlay is finally enabled. Won’t know for sure though until they enable CarPlay support.

Thanks! Another question... is there an adjustment for the back rest? This is on my new 2024 Sea to Sky with the matching S2S back rest. IIRC, the older BRP back rests, like the one I put on my 2023 Sea to Sky, had a screw to adjust the rake of the back rest, so that it could lay flat against your back, and not dig in under your shoulder blades...

LMK please?!

Just saw the 2024 S to S yesterday at the dealer. Thoughts on what your impressions are would be appreciated!

Sorry for the bad post before, what’s your impression of the 2024 S2S so far? Saw one yesterday at the dealer and thinking of upgrading. Any special $ discount?

Not sure about the s to s but my 2024 RTL has an adjustment screw. You have to pull the upholstery up in order to see it.

I miss the "glove box" between the handle bars on my RT.
I still don't know about the "vent" hole in the front of the RT, you can look through them and see wires. I hope there water proof in some way.
I miss the one lock system om my RT, I have to lock the trunks independently.
You can't prelock the trunk.

So I'm also thinking of pulling the trigger on a 2024 - have a 2015 RTL w/65K miles -- runs well, but like the look of the new leg room on these newer versions. Pretty sure the dealer will low-ball a trade...

Assume there is no discounting - we're all paying list?

My dealer knocked off about 2K off list.

A bean counter said "We can save $2 in paint if we make it black"
A marketing person said "We can spin this as a new two-tone scheme for 2024"
A Parts guy said" we only have to stock one part for all color Spyder's"

And so, the new two color, cheap looking, top case design was introduced for 2024....

Few things about the 2024 RT limited Sea to Sky and most likely all RT limited models.

1. They did replace a good chunk of push pins that held on the saddle bag cladding with actual metal screws so BRP is actually listening to people.
2. Apple Car Play (ACP) is now just enabled as of two weeks ago, so 7/11/24? but it still only works if you have the phone plugged into the USB port in the dash -AND- you have a driver comms system paired with the bike and at least on. I was able to velcro my comms controller to the dash and added charging to the handle bars. If someone texts or calls while driving, the entire sound system will mute and not come back without hitting a button on the comms. I did call BRP and log a complaint about this requirement and lack of functionality.
3. Had numerous issues with my transmission refusing to move while in reverse, now fixed. Dealer mechanic had to revert the bike firmware to "Day 1" build, power flush the clutches(oil change), then update to newest version to fix. The new $1200 touchscreen head unit controls the entire bike so most odd behaviors are a software issue.

I had the first Sea to Sky for 2021 in the highland green and loved that color. The Vegas white on my new 2024 is different than "Chalk" but I am still not completely sold on it. Kind of like riding a giant stormtrooper. I did end up adding a bunch of Tuffskins custom carbon fiber to make it pop. Dont get me wrong, the white being like a pearl is nice but like anything white, it shows everything that is dirt. I really was hoping they would do Purple or the Copper/Bronze color the 2024 F3 limited got.
