• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I want a newer model 2015+ Spyder BUT I was Told you cannot put an Audio System on these model bikes if that's true I will not be getting a New One... I need someone to clarify what you can and cannot do to these new spyders vs the older ones?! More worried about Audio Systems than anything else... help me out here!
Currently own 2009 Spyder and I already know you can put an Audio system on those models

Many of the 2015+ Spyders come with an audio system. Pick one of them.

Not to worry...

There are audio kits out there you can add to any spyder...don't know who told you that but they are off...there may not be a factory set up but some do have them stock...

:welcome:
Why don't you let us know exactly which model you're looking at?
It'll make it easier for everyone to chime in with an opinion...

Some will say that you're making a good choice, and a radio is standard!
Some will say that while it doesn't have a radio: one can easily be added...
A whole lot of folks will then tell stories of what happened, when they tried to buy a radio...
Other's will swear that you're making a mistake, and you should seriously consider a different model. :dontknow:
At least one person will tell you that they still miss their GoldWingTri-GlideVuclanVentureRaiderVisionBMWShadowM1109R... or Ural! :yikes:
And I'll just say :welcome: again! :D

For years I've been using my Samsung cell phone for radio and GPS. I use XM, I heart, and any radio station across the country is available on internet. GPS thru Bluetooth in helmet cuts out radio when the lady tells me where to turn. For brand name phones you can get a model specific mount that phone snaps in. run a 12v plug to handlebars for charging. I travel cross country by cage 2-3 times a year, takes 3 full days, have been using less than 1 gig of service total for 3 day trip. You don't even need Bluetooth, use any any wired ear buds if you don't mind the wire floating in front of your face...

I put a 600w Shark stereo on my wife's F3. I believe that they also sell a 1400W four speaker set up. My wife's 600W is loud, I can imagine what the 1400W is like.

I mounted the stereo component in the frunk and put the speakers on the handlebars.

Just my thought, but I would strongly consider a helmet system (I have a uClear) hooked up to a phone. Many programs can be downloaded as podcasts, and the new Apple OS finally pauses music and podcasts for driving directions instead of simply talking over them. If you haven't really looked at the tech in a few years, it's worth asking the basic questions again. You also don't need to blast your music to hear it through your helmet.

 Isn't Blasting the music, the entire point of this exercise?? :D
After all: there's nothing like cranking up "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" on a 25 mph pass through a rural Pennsylvania village! :roflblack:
Particularly on a Sunday morning!! :joke::joke:
