• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wife & I just got our new Spyder today, and we're thrilled. Very different riding style compared to a Motorcycle...any tips form the veteran spyder riders would be great!:2excited:

:congrats: Titanspyder welcome
You came to the right place for information.
Just start reading :chat:

Thanks for the welcome...My wife was still at work when the Spyder was delivered, so I took it too work and the looky-loos are cracking me up! gotta admit, for me it will take some getting used to, as I've ridden two weeels most of my life, but my wife is very new and this will be her primary ride (she will post as "buttercup" on this forum!
Would love to hear from any California riders..we are in Northern Santa Barbara County (if you saw the movie "sideways" you'd know where we live) called Santa Maria!
Ride Safe!!:2thumbs::yes:

welcome

You ride these more like an ATV than a bike. You gots to move it, move it... :f_spider:

move to the inside of the curve WITH YOUR BODY, and you'll find the bike won't scare you.

:congrats:
You have great ridin in your area, as i'm sure your two wheels know. I have kids in santa maria and visit often. Was at vandenberg for most of af career. still like the area. Enjoy your spyder!

Congrats to you both! You live in a beautiful area, and I hope we meet along the way...I'm down in North San Diego County. What's nice about our area is that we're south of Southern California:thumbup:

Shoulda Got A Red Spyder!

Hi I'm Titanspyder's wife. I picked out a yellow Spyder last week and it was delivered today. I really hemmed and hawed between red and yellow...went with yellow because of the cool flakes in the paint. Beautiful, no doubt...but today I'm researching Spyders a lot online and it seems like everyone has a yellow one. Oh well, they're both cool and yellow is brighter.

Anyway, the power of my SE5 scares me a bit. I have a lot of practice ahead of me. My husband said I did great on our ride tonight. He's sweet that way.;)

Lots of practice rides to come. I want to be a pro.

Happy travels~
Buttercup / Tina

#1 Recommendation:

ALWAYS, listen to what Scotty says on this forum. ( aka NancysToy )

"He is a national treasure." ( I think that is what Nancy says )

Recommendation #2: Practice and build your skills slowly. As you say, there are differences, too many to list. This past weekend, after about 3 months of Spyder ownership, I just clicked over 3,000 miles - and it still surprised me when I did a sharp lane change at around 80 mph to avoid a road hazard.

I am going to practice that some more, before I have to use it again.

And enjoy!

Tom
