• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Newbie here!! 2015 F3 few questions

Hi guys. I have a 2015 F3 that I bought new a few months ago. Since then I've been reading the forums (they are GREAT) and have two questions. Ive read a lot about the belt tension, it being too tight, what does everyone recommend?
Also do these 1330 motors always have such a rattle sound to them?

When you do your first oil change, upgrade to full synthetic high quality oil (I use Rotella T6) and most of the valve train clatter will go away and shifting will improve.

I'll stay out of the belt tension debate on the F3. I went with a smooth spyder tensioner and the lower end of the tension scale. Lower stress on bearings and splines, no vibration. Others will have differing opinions. It works for me and is what I recommend to my customers.

re Rattle in 1330 engine: None on either my '14 RTS (38k) or on '16 F3t (6k)

:congrats: & :welcome:......Rotella T-6 full Syn is great oil.....So is Valvoline 4 Stroke Full Syn 10-40 Mtc Oil........And less belt tension is better......Spyderman 60 just had ...TWO ...front sprokets SPLIT......I wonder what His belt tension was ??????.....................Mike :thumbup:

Thanks so much for the advice! I'm loving it so far!!! I will try the synthetic oil at oil change for sure. Has anyone ever had their dash do strange things. After a ride the other night I was cleaning bike up and wiped the dash and the entire thing started flashing and coming on and off and the needles went up and down!! It was possessed lol. Seemed fine after that but was strange.
