• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi all, I bought my first spyder (used 2017RTL- 5300 miles) in July. I ride 2 up mostly and my wife and I have put over 3000 miles on it since then. My first long ride was by myself on the 2hr ride home from the dealer. That was an interesting experience. Never having rode one except for the test ride . My shoulders were killing me when I got home. But I have to say I am very pleased that we bought the spyder instead of the Goldwing I went to the dealer to buy. It was my wife's idea to test ride a spyder and I am glad we did. I am lucky in that she loves to ride with me. I joined the forum in late July when I found it doing background research on the spyders. It has been very helpful
In me getting to know the spyder better. There is a lot of useful information on this forum. I read the do's and don'ts section very helpful.Looking forward to meeting some of you at a rally next year hopefully we will be over this virus by then.

:welcome: to the forum & :congrats: On the new to you Spyder RTL. Glad the forum has been able to help. I see you have placed your new ride in the Spyder Garage area of the forum, nice!:2thumbs:

:welcome: .... just a comment on the shoulder thing, not unusual for new drivers .... I think you were a bit Tense for that drive .....over gripping the handlebars .... I have learned to relax when driving my RT ( unless in the twistie's :roflblack:) .... I use the least amount of physical input necessary to keep in my lane .... I have driven 15 hrs in a day and not felt tired or achy ( @ 68 yrs.old ) ...... good luck .... Mike

Welcome! A lot of the information on SL comes from the Spyder operator's guides because there is a wealth of information in them.
