• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Newb question: What do I get with my Spyder?

I'm going to pick up my Spyders today. What should come with the Spyder? By that I mean, how many keys? Is there a printed Owner's Manual? Any other documentation I should expect?

I just want to make sure all pieces are intact before I leave the dealership.

Thanks!
Keith

welcome and :congrats: for your floridian :spyder:
2 keys, Owner manual, proof of updates.

  • Printed owners manual
  • DVD covering the operation/safety features of your bike
  • Two keys with key holders
  • One key ID tag (spare key information in case both keys are lost)
  • Bill of sale from dealer - listing options purchased, etc.
  • Options installed - all owner documentation for options
  • Temp. license plate - State inspection (if required)
  • Insurance document(up to you)
  • There may be a Can Am tag attached to the handle bar - not needed, but it was on the bike.
  • Extended warranty documentation.

List to get started.......others can/will add to this I'm sure.

Docdoru,

Thanks, but I'm buying the Spyders in MA (my home is in NH); I'm going to trailer them to FL in a couple months. Looking forward to doing some cold weather rides before heading south.

Don,

Thanks for this list. I'll take this with me to make sure I have everything.

You are buying two? Maybe they should include some free hats and Can-Am shirts.

Besides the great list that Don provided, I also got a Certificate Of Origin For A Vehicle. This is a BRP document and looks/works like a title.

I bought my Spyder out of state, so you may not get this if you are transacting in state and the dealer submits all the paperwork for your title and license. When I registered my Spyder, the NM DOT kept this document, though I kept a scanned copy for my records.

There's also a tool kit

There's a list in the owner's manual of what items are included in the tool kit. My kit was missing the front shock adjuster wrench, but it was a demo so maybe it was misplaced. If your Spyders are out of the crate I'm sure that you'll be OK.

Most important thing that comes with each Spyder is the Y-Factor. It puts a grin on my face every time I ryde.

Enjoy!

Rod.
