• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New to the Spyder World

I just bought my first Spdyer on Friday. Based upon recommendations from this forum, I bought the last 2014 RT Limited from Louis Powersports. They are a little distance from Kansas but they made it so painless, cheap and reliable shipping, and a great deal. They are putting it together now and it should be here within the next week or two.

I wanted to support my local dealer but they didn't have any Limited's left and didn't have any good deals on the RT-S.

It was the last Limited and is black. I just realized today the Limited color is Blackcurrant and I have only seen Timeless Black before. Does anyone know if there is a big color difference between the two?

I've only ridden a Spyder two years ago for a short distance (about 3 miles), and I am anxiously awaiting mine.

I wanted to thank all those in this forum for the great ideas and help in pulling the plug on the purchase

Be sure to read the newbe files! It takes 200 to 300 miles to adjust to riding a Spyder, and think about not "white knuckling" the bars - hold them loosely - enjoy!!

:congrats: on the new spyder..... I too have the Black Currant 2014 RT Ltd..... the Classic Black is just that... Deep Black....... The Black Currant has a violet/red metal flake embedded onto the black..... It is subtle and GORGEOUS.....:clap:

:welcome: & :congrats: on your new machine. I think you'll love the black currant color.

Where in Kansas are you? If you have a local dealer, I'm guessing the Wichita area.

I am really excited about the 1330. Again, thanks to this forum I waited and passed up some great deals on some new 2013's. The 2013 is still a very nice ride but it seems like more power, better mileage, less maintenance and overall trouble was a no-brainer, especially for a newbie like me.

I do live in the Wichita area.

I can't wait for delivery and warmer weather to take a nice ride. :2thumbs:

:agree: :agree: Deanna

Congratulations on your new ride, and welcome from Central Washington to one of the best forums on the net.

Black currant for sure

I bought an RTL in black currant. I was 10 seconds away from buying the timeless black but when I saw the black currant in the daylight, I was sold. I love the color and I get loads of complements on it. The black was beautiful, but the black currant is just amazing. ;)

I am now really anxious to see the black currant. I am really wanting to jump in and buy some accessories but I figure I better be patient, wait for the machine to get here, and ride it a little bit first. I do think a bumpskid will be one of my first purchases.
