• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New to the group

I'm new to this group, has well as to the spyder. I currently own a 2012 RT-SM. I do enjoy riding it, and have put only 10,000 miles on it since mid July. My only complaint is the front shakes at 40 mph. I have had it back to the dealer several times with no satisfaction. I then taken it to another dealer and I hope we can get it straightened out by spring. I will not be using the first dealer ever again. They straight up misused me, because of my lack of experience with the spyder. Hard lesson learned. Won't happen again. Lucky to have a better dealership closer I can and will use now. Happy holidays to all.

Shaking at 40 mph has been reported a lot on here and in many cases is related to tires. A broken, stressed or out of place belt can wreak havoc on the Spyder and the Kenda tires seem to be be prone to the problem.

After fighting a 42-44 mph shake on my 2011 RT we finally just changed the wheel and tire assembly with one off the showroom floor first on one side and then the other and traced it back to one bad tire on the right side

:welcome: Hope you get the shaking issues solved soon. There are many dealers that are better than others. You can get advice on the good ones by asking.

Welcome..!! Welcome..!!

to both the spyder world and this site..:2thumbs: congrats on your ryde and hope the new dealer get your issue sorted out. Make sure they check balance, tire pressure, alignment first then move on to rims and tires as well as steering sensor. You will be good to go by spring for sure...

:welcome:to spyder land and this site :firstplace:. :nopic: of your new ride. Hope the second can am dealer can fix your problem. Deanna

Welcome, you will find good people and good knowledge from the experience of those on this site. Your shaking issue, could be as simple as an out of balance tire. Or as others have said it may be a bad tire. I have not had that issue on either of the spyders I have owned. My 2010 RTS was dead smooth. I commented quite often while traveling on how smooth it was on the road. That one had over 25,000 miles on it when I traded for a '14 RTS. The tires still had good even tread on them. I hope the '14 does the same (1500 miles so far and all is well). Are your tires "cupping" at all? this could cause your shaking, air pressure or alignment or a bad tire. Does the Spyder pull or drift to the left or right if you are on a straight road and let go of the bars? That would indicate and alignment is needed.
Good luck with it.

No drifting, but some minor cupping. I have replaced all three tires. Front because of the shaking the rear because I wore it out.
