• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New tire update

...... on the rear I switched over to a Toyo Proxes T1R. Instant improvement in handling, far more planted feel at the rear and not had any loss of traction this winter (we're just into spring now). Wear has been good and even.

What size Toyo Proxes did you use? I'm thinking it may be necessary on the F3!!

I just have two questions for y'all;

motorcyclists: do you always use the brand of tire the manufacturer originally mounted on the motorcycle?

car/truck owners: do you always use the same brand of tire the manufacturer originally mounted on the vehicle?

one additional question for all tire users: do you use the air pressures listed by the manufacturer or do you ever monkey around with the tire pressures to find what works best for your riding/driving style and the loads you carry?

Deanna, I know you have probably posted this elsewhere, so I apologize for asking. After you received your tire from Tire Rack, were you able to take your Spyder to a dealer to get it mounted, or did you have to remove your rear wheel and take it to a tire shop?

Thanks

Pam
Pam, I took the my spyder to a can-am dealership to have the tire mounted. Deanna

Here is my answer to question # 1 I do not use the brand of tire that the manufacturer originally mounted on the spyder.

Question 2 answer: I do not use the brand of tire that the manufacturer originally mounted on my car. Deanna

That's good to know. I asked the dealer here if they would mount a car tire and they said absolutely not. I guess I'll have to ask around.

Pam
Pam, It took 1 phone call to find a dealer who would install the tire on my spyder. Deanna

Pam if you are able to remove the wheel yourself, which is not hard, take it to any tire dealer and they can mount it.If you have someone you regularly deal with for car tires/repair they can probably do it. That is what I did and if some little dealer in rural Utah can handle it you should be OK in Arizona. My tire dealer's only hang up was balance and we did that with Dyna beads and they are working great. BTW Bob(Finless) has a video on removing your wheel without disturbing the belt tension or alignment.

There's even an inside bit now as well as the old bus bar. Will try and remember to take some photos next time I'm there for you.

Yeah, Ive watched that video a dozen times. That's likely the route I will go.

I just had an Arachnid rear tire put on my 2014 RTL. The tire was a 225/50 R15 HD. Supposedly this tire is made specifically for the RT. I got just shy of 10K miles on the original Kenda and I ride 2 up a lot and pull a RT 622 Trailer a few times a year on trips. The original mileage was pretty good considering it was about what I got on the rear tire of my HD Ultra Classic. Hopefully the Arachnid will perform as well if not better. "FINGERS CROSSED".

I and many others are running car tires and have NOT skidded or wrecked because of the tires. Nanny will not allow too much of a skid anyway. 14,000 on a car tire here.
I truly hope that you have continued good fortune in the future.
