• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just bought my first spyder, 08 8800 miles on it. I have never ridden a motorcycle before, and I think that this thing is awesome. I have a little over 500 miles on it since I got it and tonight without my wife on the back I opened it up and in second gear I was doing 60. I was so impressed with the power that all i could do was smile. I havent gone over 70, and don't intend to, but just love accellerating to speed. I read almost every post since February when I decided that I will own one and thanks to all the posts good and bad. it really helped me make my decision. I intend on putting it in back of my camper and going to Yellowstone for three weeks for my 25th anniversary in three years but may be upgrading to the RT because these things are AWESOME. I want to thank all again this forum is great!
 
Welcome! I just bought mine a week ago, and it's my first bike too! It's super awesome and I've put 400 miles on it in 5 days!

Yellowstone would be great on an RT--very nice ride from WI to there. You will also love the scenery from the :spyder2:

Upper basin Hwy would be something else on :spyder2:

Never gone over 70? You will, in time. You're in Wisconsin, but if you're ever on the east coast and on I-95, and you're not going 75, you'll get run over by someone else.

Fear not the speed...you're better keeping up with traffic than going slow and creating a problem.

Enjoy your new ride...stick with the GS/RS...you already have a camper! :D
 
The pull to upgrade to the RT is very strong, but personally I wish I had both of them.. Both the RS and the RT are fantastic in their own ways:welcome::congrats:

Teddy & I know perfectly well of the smile'n face you are referring to. So much so, my face hurt so bad after the first week, I tried taking a break but found myself longing for & missing the thrill of acceleration and the warm breezes on my face that after 1 day, I couldn't take it anymore & we went Ryde'n........ & :D

May 26th has been one year now for us & 2 SpYders later, and over 18000 miles, I can say now ...............

that my face still hurts :roflblack: & I'm loving it! :2thumbs:

Glad you are to & as others have stated, the SpYder will do remarkably well at higher speeds than 70. Triple digits aren't out of the question, that's for sure :p:yes:

:congrats::welcome:. To think you won't go over 70 is like saying you will only crawl, never walk or run. It will just happen. I started out with an RS and upgraded to an RT. Like BikerDoc, I miss the quickness and agility of my RS but love the comfort and luxury of the RT. It can be a tough call. Which ever way you eventually go, you're going to love your:spyder2:.

Well my username seems to be decieving. It stands for 2 (people) 4 (for) canams. I do own five BRP products at this time (three skidoo snowmobiles and one can am atv) because of the service and support that I have got from the company. They weren't good at customer follow up but they always stood behind the product. I have tried the other colors of big boy toys but have had the best luck with BRP. You all are right I probably will push 70 mph but I want to feel confident first. Thanks again to all and if your in northern Wisconsin in mid July come and see the fall colors before it snows!!!!!!!!roflmao
