• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Spyder, what should I keep an eye on? What to change?

I have a new 2014 ST limited. Now has 1900 miles. I try to do all my own maintenance. So far just a oil and filter change. visual on belt alignment. No real problems other than squeaky front brakes. What should I be looking for as the miles rack up?

Also the belt makes a strange noise at certain speeds. Is there a fix other than a spring loaded idler?

I found the handling a little vague as you start to turn. Seems like it wants to lean a bit before turning. Like the roll center is high. I added a couple of turns to the front spring preload. Also I raised tire pressure in front 2 psi. This made it handle better. I'd like to see it track better. Larger sway bar?

Hi and congrats. This is what I've found, first on RS and now on ST... In this order -
- tyre pressures, find your sweet spot, mine is 18 front 28 rear
- laser alignment, absolutely critical
- sway bar and links
- shock adjustment to suit
- depending on riding style and weights, upgraded rear shock
- seat gel, air or sheepskin, maybe aftermarket if you want
-?drivers backrest, utopia have one for the stock seat

maintenance - follow the operators guide, but review valve check posts on spyderlovers as later may be fine

troubleshooting - this forum is BRILLIANT, get to know the search box!

Note, after laser alignment, buds is needed to reset the steering.

Hope this helps and have fun.

I agree with "loisk"!!!!! The BajaRon sway bar and the "laser align" are by far your best investment!!!! That change eliminated all the vague feedback upon entering and exiting turns!!!!!
Welcome to the Zoo and enjoy your new ride!! Ride safe!!!:yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

Check with your dealer, not all dealers may have the ability to do the Laser Alignment. There is a link that list all the places that do the alignment, but I do not remember what it is.
Hopefully someone will chime in with the info...

Laser alignments seem to help the vast majority of bikes handle better.
Beyond that: ride the bike, and let it tell you, what might need changing! :D

If everybody followed the same list of changes; none of the bikes would be truly "personal".
