• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First time spyder owner here. Just bought a 2011 RS SE5 WITH 3300 MILE at start up check dps scrolls across screen, but check engine does not come on steering seems to be working properly. Been told a weak batery will cause this. It starts right up and seems strong. Can anybody help me out. THANK YOU.

I have seen posts that weak battery can cause this. DPS takes uses a lot of power. Check battery connections to see if any corrosion and see if tight. Even if new battery, like last year, its been sitting and could just be weak enough to start but cause codes to pop up. Check with volt meter at rest and running. Rest should be 12.5, running 13.0 - 13.5

Hey Jerry. That was a fantastic post. Very helpful to new folks....and to old folks.

Hey Meadville. Yes, a DPS will sometimes fail, but the vast majority of issues are just what Woodaddict said - an aging battery that can't keep up with the demands of the DPS, or loose / dirty battery connections, or even the fuse. And sometimes the DPS system can be misunderstood. It's not like typical "power steering" that we're used to. This is an operational description from the shop manual. We're usually at Eddy's - out by the airport - a few times a year for foot-longs. Maybe will see you there.

Hi Snowbelt,

Re: Hey Jerry. That was a fantastic post. Very helpful to new folks....and to old folks.

We are here to serve.

And what is really nice is that it does not cost me anything.:yes::yes:
