• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. New Spyder Rider Physical Problem

Hi, I'm a new Spyder RT-S owner/rider and just completed a 1000 mile ride on the new bike. Everything was great after the initial learning curve with one exception: After about 60 miles my knees start to "burn" from sitting in the same position without the benefit of highway pegs to move my feet off the stock pegs. If I stop and stand up and walk around the bike a few times I'm good for another 60 miles. Any suggestions or reccomendations for highway peg mountings would be appreciated.

Check out the sponsors on the home page. Many of them carry highway pegs for the RT's. You can also do an RT Touring or RT Shop Talk forum search to find out what everyone one else has on their RT's.

Me to !!

I have looked at them all and have made my decision, ISCI floorboards because they can be lowered 1 1/2 inches lower then stock pegs plus it allows movement of your feet forward and backward for comfort.

:welcome: and :congrats:on the new ryde.

It looks like they already have you covered above. I have made a couple postings about seal floorboards--you can check them out by going back to my profile. They are current within the last couple days.

I used the KewlMetal brackets with Kury Iso Wings. I can stand on these, leaning against my Utopia Driver's Backrest, relieving the backside as well as the knees. Can ride like this for miles, either with one or two hands on the handlebars.

I went with the Kewl Metal because they come with two extentions. I set mine high so I can set my ankles on the edge and stretch my tendons. Plus I can put a lot of weight on them also.

This keel metal brackets come to far out for me. If keel metal made ones that were shorter then the peg could be inboard so to speak. My feet could be just forward and down behind the lower deflector. I hate spreading my legs that far out, a joint issue I guess. I think other would agree. I have thought of just ordering a set of brackets and just cutting them to were they come out passed or just at the shifter and brake pedal to have the peg just outboard of each but inboard of the lower deflector.

I went with ISCI's floorboards rather than highway pegs for a couple of reasons:
1. If it sticks out at all from the bike, I'll trip over it! :opps:
2. A "cleaner" look with fewer parts hanging off the bike
3. The floorboard allows me to move my feet around a bit, yet also gives me a flat surface upon which to rest my feet. Footpegs give only one cdontact point.
As was mentioned; the ISCI boards allow for vertical adjustment AND can be tipped fore and aft...

I have KewlMetal suggested by Mark Lawson...and a local welding shop made some extensions that my dealer sells. You can adjust the footrest in 100 different ways...I have the right side rest higher than the left due to right knee problem. It sure has made a difference....My footrest may look a little clunky, but it makes 110% difference in my comfort.

Matters not if they look "clunky" as you said George. As long as it makes BR1 more comfy for you!! That is what matters.
