• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Spyder Owner!

Just pulled the trigger on a New 2014 RTS :)
Test drove a few and My Wife and I fell in love.
Got rid of my Kawasaki Voyager and here we are!
First off, What a GREAT SITE you have created here.
Everyone's posts had a big effect on our decision.
Thank You All!
Second, just wondering what folks consider to be their "Must Have" upgrade or add on, and why...
Sorry I'm so long winded, I just wanted to say,"Hi!"
Thanks again,
Old Man Grizz

:welcome::congrats::clap: Great choice - ride it awhile - Farkles will come to you easily - my first were safety oriented: replacing reflectors with bright LEDs on fenders. Enjoy!

Welcome to the Spyder family! After putting on some miles, you will have a better idea of what you want for accessories.

 Welcome to the PARTEEE!
Just about everybody in here, has their own list of "Must-Haves"...
Why not try riding a while, and see what you think of it?

Fairly new to the Spyder too myself. I don't know that there are really any must have's. As mentioned, ride it for a couple thousand miles and go from there. I fell for a couple highly "recommended items".....not sure how much I really needed them. Your riding style and wanted accessories (electronics, music, lighting) will dictate your personal must have's....For now, ride the heck out of it and smile.. Fun aint it?

Put a few hundred miles on it then get it laser aligned and upgrade the sway bar and links to BajaRon's bar/links. Many people, myself included, consider those must have upgrades.

After that, depends on your style and your wallet.

For comfort .................. Highway pegs may be one

Protect Front End ..........................Bumpskid

Safety ............................. Extra Lights

Performance .................... Sway bar

Lots to think about, but ride it and enjoy it.

:congrats: And apologies, I hope these picts don't come out as large as they appear to me; I still have to learn to adjust the size, lol!

:welcome: You call that long winded???

I'd say the bump-skid is essential. But like others have said, ryde it a while and then decide on everything else. I recommend BajaRon's anti-sway bar. Then farkle to your hearts content - or as far as your spending money will allow.

:welcome:and :congrats: enjoy your new ride!

My first spyder ( 2012RTS-S5) I did not do any farkling. Then I upgraded to my current ride 2014RTS-SE6 Cognac. I got my dashboard painted Cognac. Then I got Sceptor Kit-Orange reflective decals from ( WRAPMYSPYDER.COM they are a vendor on this site) Get your spyder laser aligned, everyone personalizes there own. Deanna

:congrats: & :welcome: We all love pictures around here, so post a pic or 2 of your new ride, that is if your not too busy riding. :agree: with those that posted already. Ride for awhile and then farkle for awhile.

Welcome..!! Welcome..!!

congrats on your new ryde..:2thumbs: I always suggest ryding for a while getting used to all the features and then...safety, comfort/ handling and then bells and whistles. Enjoy...

Welcome! I'm another new owner, having bought mine a couple of weeks ago.

As for farkles, what do *you* want to add? Different strokes for different folks.

:welcome:
