• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Spyder Maintenance Schedule

I am new to Spyder ownership and thus far really like it. I have however found BRP very tight with information about anything technical. Today, however I actually got some information that does not seem to be easily available to owners. It has to do with extended oil changes, valve adjustment, etc. The new maintenance schedule is dated May 28th, 2012 and is bulletin 2012-12. It shows the oil change requirement changed to 4600 miles. The 4600 mile mark seems to replace all service that was previously set for 3000 miles. Valve adjustment has been extended to 14000 miles. These changes are predicated on the use of the new filters and where RPMs are generally limited to 6000 or less. Good news to reduce costs. The bulletin says new maintenance schedules will be sent out in the next few weeks. My dealer did not mention this change when I had my 600 miles service done a couple of weeks ago. Maybe they didn't have the information yet.

This is old news to us here. If you want to know anything about the Spyder, check this site often. We often know things wayyyyyyy before the dealers.

Me......... I'm just a pretty face here, but If you need to know anything about the Spyder fire away because there are a ton of people on this forum that are top notch when it comes to Spyders.

I know that this has been talked about a great deal but, until you see it in writing from BRP it is only a rumor. If the new maintenance schedule is available on this forum or other Spyder forums, I have not been able to find it. And yes,I have found a great deal of very useful information on this forum. The users seem to be very knowledgable and willing to help and share their experiences. Also, there is a lot of very helpful information in the "ShopTalk"and "DIY" sections of this forum that I have spent a lot of time studying already. Good stuff.

Yep, this is what I am talking about. Lots of very good information but no documentation. BRP provided the actual new maintenance schedule. Real and official documentation. There is one strange thing that I have not seen in any posts on this forum or any of the others. Spyders sold in California are specifically exempted from the new schedule. No explanation as to why.
