Spider-man,
Have you gone through the process of making sure your Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM) has been set up for your sending email address? The reason I ask is your subscription confirmation email to me went into the spam folder at Zoho.com, who is my email service provider. I had to dig to find it since it did not come on down to my email client on my PC or tablet.
pps: I don't think that I got the whole subscription thing figured out...:banghead:
The link sent me off o a place that had nothing to do with your website... :dontknow:
What am I doing wrong?
I got a PM that pointed out there is a DKIM signature in the email header and apparently, by some verification service, is deemed OK. Here is what I sent him in response. No I haven't. I'll look into it. Thanks for the heads up!
Sometimes it's really hard to tell what's what with a URL or email address. A trace route to spyderlife.net ends on siteground.com, a website hosting service. A URL in the message header shows the email coming from IP 192.0.85.73 which is Automattic, Inc. the owner of Wordpress.com and a whole bunch of other web sites. The From: header is Spyder Life Magazine <[email protected]>. That has got to be an email service address for Wordpress users, which could be a spam catch word for some filters.
Zoho seems to have pretty strict spam filters. I had to retrieve a whole bunch of emails from the spam folder that never got hung up when I was using GoDaddy for my email provider. If Automattic and/or Wordpress are sources for a fair amount of spam then email from them could get shunted off into spam folders, depending on the email provider. I was told some months ago that a Hotmail sender address is a red flag, as are subject line words like newsletter.
The header I see has the DKIM included but no indication of it's legitimacy. So anyway, I just recently became aware of the DKIM aspect of emails, and the part it plays in authenticating emails, so thought that might have been the reason the subscription email got filtered.
