• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just got back from California where I had a Russell Day-Long seat built.

Here it’s in progress. That’s Mike who built my seat.

Time to ride

Looks like a great addition. Soon the roads will clear.
Now its time to ride and report on the comfort of the new seat.

Nice seat, and I assume you rode there and back? If so, that's good news for me. Leaving on April 17 for California to ryde my Spyder bring her home to Missouri :yes::yes:

I have to admit I trailered it there and back. Spring weather in the mountains is iffy so I didn't ride. As it turns out I drove through a blizzard in Colorado, so it's probably just as well.

Hi....we're you able to wait while they built the seat for you??

Yes I did. And I'm glad I did. People have had good results by ordering remotely, but getting to do the test sit was valuable. They took out some foam to lower it and now it feels just right. Now I'll have to ryde it a few hundred miles in a day and I'll let you know if I need to add that foam back in!:ohyea:

I was there with you?

I got home two hours after you from having a Russell day long seat made also. I hade mine made with the Sunbrella material. The color looks better in real life; I think compressing the image faded the red. It is actually a mixture of red and black

A few comments:
1. Verdict is still out. So far the second most comfortable seat I have ever had, and it is still breaking in. I choose not to have the number one person make me a seat since I found it extremely hard to deal with him mail order. Just to be clear, that vendor somehow never has been mentioned in Spyderlovers.
2. GET A BACKREST! I love it.
3. The antenna extender provided with the MBL luggage rack does work; I have just decided to replace the antenna with a shorter one. Since I bought my Spyder four months ago I assumed I would get a trailer. Previously I rode two 650's and two 800's. Until I started to prepare for this trip I had no idea how big the seat and luggage rack was. I have since decided to get one more really big dry bag. The bag I used on this trip was barely Long enough to get my bungee chords around it,

best have your long johns and heated gear with you; might be a really LONG ride home at that time of year. But enjoy your new bike.
