• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New RT Owner

Have over 900 miles on the new RT . After 10 years on a Victory I am learning how to ride all over agian .

1 st oil change had the backrest added by the dealer , I could not bring myself to cut the brand new seat .

I did do most of the maintence on my 2 Vic's , .................. this thing I do not know if I am up to it , time will tell.

The RT is a absolute blast to ride and has me ridding it vs. taking my truck .

It is nice to be on 3 wheels and still out in the weather not closed in like a car or truck .

I think the stock seat and seating postion is fine , I am going to adjust the front shocks up for a little stiffer ride,

So far the biggest pain are the turn signal button , too pricse IMO ,

The heat is difitinitly there but so far manageable .

:welcome: and :congrats: on the new ryde.

RE: turn signal: in issues where it does not self cancel, (lane change), an extra second holding the button in will cancel the signal every time.

:welcome: and :congrats: on the new Ryde. I came over from a Goldwing. I truly enjoy the ryde my RT S gives me.

I'm in about the same place that budsspuds is. 900 miles on my new RT and through the initial service. I think I will have the dealer do all my service related work. Not much into that anymore. I too drive a truck, or used to before the RT. The only time I drive my truck now is in bad weather and when shopping for more than the RT will hold. Maybe I should buy the trailer.

That's interesting about the turn signal (akspyderman) and the extra one second hold to cancel it. I will try that tonight. That signal is my only complaint so far.

I rode 2-wheeled bikes since high school but physical issues put a stop to that. The Spyder is the best solution for me and keeps me riding. I like this bike more each day I ride it. I'm going on one of our twice annual 400 mile day trips next month and I will be anxious to enjoy it on the Spyder this time. What a fantastic machine.

Welcome new Spyder Ryder from another fairly new Spyder Ryder

Now have 3000 miles and still hate the turn signal switch . Other than that all good .

I miss the torque of my Vic's , but I am growing on this high reving RT .

I also am planing on no mods on the RT , I did it on the Vic's and well for me the RT needs none .

Oh I have read about floorboards , seats , lights , suspension parts .................... But stock is good enough so far for me .

I mean I did buy to ride it and everywhere we go I am also asked to explain what it is and how I like it .

Oh also wish it had a bigger gas tank or improved MPG . or both .:doorag:

Congratulations onn your new lifestyle. I would look at SpyderPops food that heat problems. There is a solution.

Ride in comfort,

DocRags new RT

We got her RT this past Tuesday and as of today it has 895 miles on it, so time to get it serviced, but it will have to wait a couple of days (weeks). Unless we get someone to ride it to the shop next week.

Tool Kit who knew

Ck'd oil today after 3000 miles all good , ck'd air in front tires and added some , added some air to the rear shock . And low and behold found the tool kit up under the seat that has a wrench that allowed me to turn the front shocks to their highest setting . All good , did scratch the rims adding air bummer .:banghead:

Enjoy!! Interested to know if after....

Hiya! Charlotte and I say hello from SC! Sounds great how quickly the miles have added up!! We just had our initial 600 mile service today and WOW what a difference!

With the right mechanic/service center - at least for us - there was a great difference in our RT today.

And about the turn signal...oh gosh did it give me a fit (even having read the owner's manual before purchase - couldn't remember every detail - old age now... :p) and if you already are aware of this, please forgive me, "To turn the signal off, press the button in." copied straight from MOM. Charlotte told me how for some time my signal was steadily blinking occassionally on my first ryde (she was following). Of course, it was turning off automatically after 30 secs! Completely got by me the first ~25miles!

I'd be interested in knowing if you have any noticeable difference in your RT's performance post-initial maintenance...Happy Trails!!
