• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Rider/Spider Lover

Cheers everyone! I‘m a new rider (very green) and just took possession of a 2014 RT LTD (Pearl, 1 mile) during the BRP January Specials that include an additional 2 year B.E.S.T warranty.

I’m glad I found this forum! I have read through the Sticky’s and searched a few post but still have a few question about accessories.

  1. I have read post that discusses the success of “Baja Ron Anti Sway Bar/Heim links”. As a newbie, will I really noticed the difference, at least until I get riding hours under my belt?
  2. For Spyderpops “Missing Belt Guard" and “Skid Plate”, are these just for precaution?

Looking forward to your feedback.

Welcome..!! Welcome..!!

to both the spyder world and this site..:2thumbs: congratulations on your new ryde..!! You are right on both counts. The swaybar is great but you should get your feet wet first. The guard and bumpskid on the other hand you could do anytime. If your ryding in areas with gravel rocks etc they are good protection. Enjoy the ryde and the smiles...

:welcome:and :congrats: on your new 2014LTD.

Get some miles under your feet first, go to a empty parking lot, ride around so you can get use to it.

Get a Laser Alignment, you will feel the difference. It is like night/day. I can not help you with the Bump skid.

My first spyder was a 2012RTS-SE5 I had 8,988 happy miles, then I traded up to a 2014RTS-SE6 ,the 2014RT'S-SE6's with the new 1330 ACE engine are AWESOME. Deanna

:welcome: and :congrats: on your new ride.

I would also recommend waiting about a thousand miles before doing any major changes to your RT. You may end up liking it as is.

:cheers: To many miles and smiles.

Now that you've found us ; I guess that we'll all have to hide again... :roflblack:
Seriously... :congrats: on your new bike, and:welcome: :2thumbs:

Welcome and safe riding. You've gotten much good advice here already -- a no cost SL benefit! I second the recommendations for the bump skid, missing belt guard and laser alignment. I did have the dealer install a BajaRon sway bar as I just didn't have the capability to get it the requisite height to do the installation myself. Even as a newbie it has paid off the stability of the Spyder. Good luck!

Welcome !

Now I'm green but that's only with envy. You made a very wise choice. This is undoubtedly the finest RT made (to date) and to buy in the winter, at the end of the model year, and while you got two additional years of warranty was well thought out. Take the time and plan out any additions you may want. Weigh it out and decide if you want BRP parts that will plug and play nicely but expensively or choose to get creative and do it yourself. Some people on this site have done some amazing things themselves and best of all, they will share with you how they did it.

:congrats: & :welcome:

I have both the Ron Bar and the skidplate and personally they're must haves in my book...
