• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi I am new to the Spyder RT and have a 2011 RT SE5 A&C. I am trying to outfit it with some more chrome than it came with and wonder if anybody here has changed over the footrest supports to the chrome version. I bought a set of the chrome supports, chrome pass floorboards, chrome driver pegs and am going to change them over. I wonder if anybody had any tips or things to look out for during the installation. The instructions look pretty straight forward (although pretty long) but I still seek any advice i can get. thanks in advance for any help i can get.

:welcome:Man o Man you are doing the toughest mod first. This mod is not for the faint of heart. That being said if you own a tool box and can read instructions you are good to go. This mod requires almost all the tupperware comes off complete with the rear trunk. the only real trouble I had is I couldn't get one bolt started, finaly took the support bracket off and drilled a very shallow counter sink to help the bolt find the hole. I would recomend that you start all the bolts before you mount the support bracket to make sure the bolt easily threads in .Near the end of the instructions they recommend you buy some sort of guide to help in the instulation process, I found that it is not required.( something to do with the master cylinder push rod )Took me a good 5-6 hours .

Be prepaired to say "gosh darn" a time or two, but just follow the instructions one step at a time and you should do fine. There is a lot of satisfaction in doing your own wrenching .

thanks alot for the advice. this isn't the first mod on this tho. the second day I had it, I had the whole nose off it to change the lower spoiler chrome pcs that are sandwiched between 2 pcs of the plastic. haha thought my wife was gonna die.
thanks too for the welcome

footrest supports

I removed my footrest supports to have them powder coated. As said previously a long job 2-3 hours.
I did not have to remove the rear trunk to do this, but you will have to unbolt the master cylinder which is a bugger to twist out of the brake side support. Helps to cut the cable ties holding the hydraulic hose going to the rear brake so you can get some slack. There are also wires coming from the brake plate behind the support plate that need disconnecting. The bolt through the brake pedal is long and needs to be put back through the brake plate and the support plate before fixing in place, you will not get it in after - I know!

The other side is a dodle by comparison.

Also pump the brake pedal when all back together.

Hope that helps

As fastfraser stated it is not a easy install. However, you don't need to completely remove the rear cargo module. You only need to slide it back far enough to access the brake fluid reservoir. There are two screws that needs to be removed to allow the reservoir to be moved forward. This is required to allow enough slack in the line to move the master cycliner far enough forward to get the foot peg support off. Someone mentioned 2-3 hours but I would allow at least 6 hours if you are not familiar with removing the cargo module, etc.
