• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New, must-have accessory...

Too bad Billy Mays is dead. He could have marketed thousands of these to bored housewives who don't even know anything about Spyders! :roflblack:

"YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO NOT HAVE ONE. CALL NOW AND WE'LL THROW IN A CUSTOM BOOTY TO KEEP IT FROM GETTING SCRATCHED!" :D

Is Leno getting the first one? How much is HE paying??

Yes. That's a trade secret.

I believe the Spyder is a little heavier than a Valkyrie, so are you sure it is strong enough to keep the Spyder from falling over.

Actually, they're about the same. But... the SideKick is actually based on one from a 2002 VTX-1800... I just said I was in the garage fiddling with the Valkyrie.

Now I read on a thread somewhere that there has been a change from full synthetic to synthetic blend oil for lubricating that hinge pivot mechanism on the Side-Kick. Has there been an official update?

Also, in the manual it states that it requires 11.5 lb-ft of torque to put the side-kick in the upright position but 15.1 lb-ft to put it in the down position. I find that when I push the mode button it seems to require much less force on the upkick to the side-kick but less force on the down kick...Is this normal?

Lastly, I used the dzus fasteners included in the kit to mount both my side-kicks (I am abidextrous so I am left-footed as well as right footed so I needed two side-kicks for my two sides) but they seem to cause the side-kicks to, well, unmount and fall off each time they are pivoted 1/4 of a revolution. While I appreciate this "quick release" feature, I would prefer a somewhat slower-release fastening system...Is one in the works?

Thanks again for a great product.

You're Welcome. Any oil will suffice, including vegetable.

We don't know each other well enough for you to call me by my first name... I would prefer "Mr. Dude".
Sorry about your problems with the Dzus fasteners. Tell it to someone who cares.

Will it drag in turns?

Because you know I'm Boy Racer and don't weant anything that will limit my turning ability.

MM

In your case, we have an extra-heavy-duty model that will handle the added weight just dandy.

:yikes:Wow!
I cant believe I missed this post!
Please put me on the list.

Mike

OK

:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:thats funny you have too much time on your hands and he well say :shemademe_smilie: LOL:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:
Well... OK, then.

I saw yours and was worried that it might bend so seeing I'm a welder and know how to use one I made my own out of 2" steel.

Copycat.

WOW! IS THIS HOT!

All I can say is that this is the best mod since unsliced bread! I have not used it, but can say with absolute certainty that the Spyder WILL NOT fall down if you use this mod. The customer service provided by the supplier is rumored to be non existent, but I think if you send a Paypal deposit and wait patiently for a year or so, everything should work out just fine for somebody.
If I ever see this mod in person on someone elses bike, I will update this review with my impression of thier comments.

Hope this helps you get lots of new deposits!

Mike

You got it... send money and wait. Now, off with you. We don't need stinkin' reviews... I provided a picture, for gosh sakes... it must be real and exceedingly good.

Ok, so I have now had my sidekick for two months or at least a good copy of one and lately I have been having shooting pain in my left leg. I went to the doctor and he said this is a clasic example of sidekickidst. He has been seeing an increase in this new disease and said that someone has already started a class action lawsuit.
I guess it has something to do with the amount of force required to extend it to the up position that damages the leg muscles. Avoid this product if you value your health.
Have not heard if the same is true for the new 2" version that some amatuer is now marketing.

Sour grapes.
mockery-035.gif
The 2", I hear, really sucks.

I heard your Spyder can catch on fire from all the friction at the pivot point too! :yikes:

MM
And your point is? We all take risks. What's one more?

Lamont deleted the post. Jealousy is not a pretty thing.

This latest mod means I never have to yell..."I've fallen and I can't get up".

Mostly correct.

That's an extra cost item, Forrest. And, it doesn't work in Florida.

Hey...can I get one for free?...I'll show it to all my friends and they'll all order from you...while we're at it, if you send me your bike, I will ride that one around and build up necessary mileage for you so that it runs better. If not, can you send me that cool pipe? It'd look good in my garage...

When we're done, can you buy me dinner?

Thanks...I really like you a lot...

This only applies if you work in Hollywood as a "Stunt double"!!:ohyea::roflblack:

And put me in for 2. One for the SE5 and one for Evan's SM5. I'll give it to him for Christmas. Send the bill to Stuntman!:roflblack:

Sales have been a little slow so I will kill a few birds with only one stone.

I've renamed the SideKick to The Emperor (ta ta!) and have created a try-it-before-you-buy-it program.

A non-refundable cash deposit of $659 is required prior to shipping. Your happiness is guaranteed... or not.

Yeah, well...You reminded me just how much I appreciate excellent customer service (NoMagicNeon, NewEnough, Cat Specialties, Nelson-Rigg, Spiralus Graphics) so I've decided I want my money back.

I would also like a 15% redeposit fee (as I will have to go all the way to the bank to put my refund back in my account) as well as a gift certificate to each of the above vendors who do remember their customer service training.

I will be forwarding all your correspondences to the Better Business Bureau, PayPal Fraud Department, and the Attorney General's office.

This sounds like a really needed item. I seem to remember having one on my 1939 Knucklehead, with reverse.

I am, however a little low on cash. Can I charge it to my dust account and let the rain settle it ?

I know just the guy who will like this program as long as you can "lend" him the $659 to try it.

Not a chance.

...And eBay.

Sounds like sour grapes to me. You didn't read the fine print.

Is that your best offer? :yikes:

Would it be possible to get one for each side..... Just in case...:roflblack:

Absolutely. We're currently having a 2-fer sale... two for $1,318.00.
.

I saw one of these on a Spyder with a whole line of Spyders parked beside it. Unfortunately, it was a hot day and the Side-Kick sunk deep into the asphalt, causing the dreaded domino effect. You should have seen it, 12 Spyders all laying on their side... It was horrible. :gaah:

Hey maybe you can get Lamonster to do an "infommercial" for you! :dontknow:

Seems I heard somwhere he's doing these now?

Yepper. Sad. All because that owner refused to invest $34 for the optional smushed beer can. Cheapskate.
