• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Members - Opinions requested (2013) (RSS vs STS/RTS)

How about prowling the dealerships, and try to find a 2012 leftover?

Honestly I'd be fine with that, but the one dealer I've come across with locally had a 2012 RSS and wanted more for it ($17,1k) than I could get a 2013 RSS from another dealer ($15,5), and almost as much as the good priced dealer had a 2014 RSS ($17,5k).

If the dealers were willing to work with me on price on a 2012/2013 RT or RTS and I could get it for around 20k - I'd do that in a heartbeat.

I'll call a few more dealers to see what's up.

Follow up.. Picked up a new 2013 RSS today under the 4 year BEST warranty promotion.

Only got to ride it in the driveway so far, it was pouring down raining the whole day.

Looking forward to making the small little modifications to make it mine (windshield, floorboards, seat/backrest for my wife and perhaps risers/new more comfy bars) but I'll be happy with the RSS after weighing the options on them all. It just didn't make sense, even adding up full list price of all the aftermarket stuff I wanted to purchase the ST, let alone the RT for the prices I could get.

Thanks everyone for the input! Now have to pick up my wife a helmet and some comm devices. :)

I would *LOVE* to have a 2013 or 2014 RT, but I just can't bring myself to pay as much for it as I pay for my VW Golf TDI. :)
Nothing wrong with that! For the last 20 to 30 years Honda Goldwings, new and used, have been about the same price as a Honda Civic!! :D

Be sure they give you credit for the $2000 +/- factory rebate, plus whatever they're willing to cut from their normal profit margin. The rebates are available for 2011 to 2013 models, plus 4 year BEST warranty. For example, last Nov the local dealer quoted me $17,700 for a 2013 base RT SE5, ostensibly at 0 margin.

Love the color!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..Safe riding...Go to Spyderfest and look at all the Spyders and their mods....You can then decide which ones will suit you best...Everyone would let you sit on theirs,I'm sure!!!

Doofoo
Sweet ride! I have a 2012 RS with no mods & I have travelled all around US......great feel & seating position for me, I do focus on a workout pattern that stretches & strengthens all muscles especially mid section & arms

Congratulations! You can get an Ultimate or Corbin seat down the road to make you and your wife more comfy. I'm not sure which part of Maryland you're on, but check us out on DMV Spyder Ryders on meetup.com, and Spyder Ryders of America Old Dominion Chapter on Facebook. And your wife is welcome to join us on Girls on Spyders on Facebook.
