• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

There is a posting at the beginning of this forum: "Does and Don'ts for New Spyder Ryders" that is very informative. I've be riding the Spyder for a few years now, and still refer to it occasionally.

Oh, and WELCOME TO THE SPYDERWEB!!!:dg2:

Thanks for your input- I appreciate it.

I too have been on motorcycles my whole life. I love my Spyder. The key to getting used to the Spyder was not the loose grip for me. For others, it helps them. My grip has not changed much as I moved to the Spyder. The key for me was getting miles under my belt and giving my brain a chance to reprogram to the Spyder. The second factor that went along way with assisting me was my laser alignment. I have never owned one of the showroom floor but from what people on this forum tell me, the factory alignment leaves a lot to be desired. I know that when I first got the Spyder, I felt I had less control and was all over the road. Small input on the Spyder equals sudden change where as I always felt the motorcyle rate of change was proportionate to the input. In the past 30 days, I have put 2000 miles on my Spyder and I am completely comfortable. I can see ever moving back to two wheels. This is not to say I wont own one in addition to my Spyder. My brain is now on three wheels and I feel like I have plenty of control on the Spyder. They are a blast to ryde. There are a lot of post in this forum regarding the ride and acclamation. Plenty of people are eager to offer assistance and criticism (so be ready). This is a great forum and has been invaluable for me.

Looks like tomorrow is the big day for the test drive- Damn I'm excited-

Thx to everyone for the encouragement and the welcomes.

Hello and welcome, I bought my first Spyder last year. I never owned a motorcycle before but I owned snowmobiles for 25 years, and a few ATV's. So getting on a Spyder was a natural fit. They are awesome machines they are not that hard to operate. I bought a 2015 RT Limited and it suits me and my wife perfectly. Since you have owned Snowmobiles, ATV's and a motorcycle you will have no problem. Enjoy many miles.

Welcome to Spyder world, if purchasing a 17 model they had a 2000.00 rebate so if they knocked off 2000.00 off the price i would at least make them knock off 4000.00. Good luck with the purchase you will love and like previously mentioned relax your arms your arms will get a little tired at first if you have a lot of twistees like we have here
You will love it:yes:

Going from two wheels to 3 is a very easy transition. As others have said. Get some miles on your new Spyder and you will find excuses to have to go for a ride. I take mine to the grocery store. I always get a lot of strange looks. I hope it’s the bike and not me!! My Spyder is just fun to ride.
I still need my 2 wheeler so last year I purchased a new Street Glide. The best of both worlds. Enjoy your new Spyder when you get it. Also folks on here are awesome and very helpful!! Good Luck.

OMG-- I am in love and more importantly, so is my wife!!!

I did an hour ride at all speeds and terrain. What a complete surprise. Within 5 minutes I was totally comfortable in traffic and out.

There wasn't a single thing that I was disappointed with. The one we drove was a 2014 with 50k MILES on it. Still was tight and quiet and very smooth.

I WILL BE AN OWNER.

Now comes the fun part of finding the one I want. I really think if I can find a new 2017 I will opt for it. I'm not totally sold on the integrated GPS on

the '18. They have a NEW 2016 in the showroom but it is black and it scares me a little that it has sat for 2 years. I also don't think they are

discounting it enough to entice me.

Wish me luck folks and if you have ANY other suggestions please feel free to suggest away.

Thx for everything so far.

Bob

P.S.

I am so excited- I feel like a little kid.

Keep us in the loop.:coffee: Enjoy your Time and The Test.
