• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Map functions

FWIW, I for one see no value in it. This forum seems to be getting away from its core strength as a mutual support site for Spyder Lovers.

Not a criticism. Just an observation.

It doesn't sound like I will change your mind, but I think this is a great idea if someone is traveling to an unfamiliar area, and would like help with directions, or just good places to visit. I remember a lot of people here hesitant on taking a trip because of reliability issues. I think this would really help knowing someone is in the area, and is familiar with local attractions, lodging, or even what Dealers to use (or stay away from!) I added suggestions or assistance on my comment line, so anyone in the area knows I will help if they need it. Of course this will be a lot more useful if everyone joins in. We had something like this in the Valkyrie club I was in and it was very useful.

I'd find it very difficult to locate someone close by from this, if I had a problem on the road. Internet connection....log in to SL....locate the map....find someone close by....PM them and hope they get back to you in a decent amount of time....nope I'm just not getting it. But that's just me.

ok, some things have been added & some bugs etc fixed, working on another bug right now for the edit.

If you go edit your PIN, when the popup box comes up, move really fast to click edit or the box will close on ya.

Options added to the PIN markers
Help Section:
Tools Available
Trailer Available
Lodging Available

Clustered area'd number only, now has a color image marker around it.

The forum is getting away from its core strength?

So the addition of a map to help a fellow rider in need, isnt "mutual support"?

That's probably because you just like to be critical of everything & be stubborn about it. No offense Pete!

Anthony,

Thank you for working on this. I knew the problems with the map function could be fixed. Oh ya----- My new years resolution was to be more positive.

I would like to edit mine for tools/etc. It appears as though it will only let you edit location. Is this correct?

Thanks, Bob

What browser are you using?

Chrome - It appears thats a bug in the code, odd i did test chrome when creating a pin, the radio buttons work for making your tools/trailer etc selection, but it appears they do not function when editing a pin in chrome.

Firefox - It does work on both, when creating or editing a pin.

Clicking on the tab at the top brings up the full US map. It is working for me. Go up or down from there with the controls.

Nothing but white page within the map area. Using IE11 windows 10. It did function prior but something is astray with this map. Everything else functions great.
Again, thanks.

I dont have windows 10 available, but there is no issue with the map, id clear your browser cache & try again.

Ill test on windows 10 tomorrow w/ ie11

Today
I get this message:

1.Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

Tried it. I was able to drop a new pin, but the radio buttons for tools/trailer, etc. did not show up except for one unlabled set of yes/no buttons and two text windows. Tried both Firefox and an older Seamonkey browser on Win 7, same result in both. I tried it several times, sorry if it makes multiple pins show up.

Edit - tried it in Chrome also, same results.

Confirmed as working on win 7 in chrome & ff, try clearing your browser cache in those & try again please.

I dont have seamonkey to test with it.

The map I am having this message displayed is the new Spyderlovers user map not the US map.
