There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. New maint. schedule

Maintenance Schedule

Have any of our Canadian SpyderLovers recieved a letter yet? I have't and am wondering if it is only in the USofA right now.

Hi Star Cruiser !
Just got mine in the mail today. You will likely get yours shortly.
If you go to General Discussion look for New Maintenance Schedule there is a copy of the booklet there you could see the details.

New maint schedule

Howdy. I hope this helps clear more than it muddies.

I just left my 2010 RT at Kent Motorsports in Selma, TX. They are going to do the 9300-mile maintenance. (I bought the dealer's service plan.) The tech told me it is the same as what used to be the 9000-mile maintenance. I have 9,755 trouble-free miles on the Spyder.

The "PANEL" is NOT anything related to tupperware. It is a panel below the new filter which makes it easier for the tech to change the filter. Currently, the dealer does not have any...so I am now on a list for later.

The tech also told me it does not apply to RS Spyders.

Hopes this helps. Good ryding.

Looks like it is a universal change...got mine today.( but will they be in stock when I pop in and that will be shortly :dontknow:)

Received my envelope 2 days ago for my 2012 RT-S. I'll check with the dealer if they have the new panel next time I'm there.

No, not yet but the dealer did show me the new oil and tranny filters though

After posting here yesterday I checked the mail box and surprise there it was my letter and a new maintenance schedule booklet and a letter for a new oil filter access panel. That was fast as I live in Canada

Dealer didn't know anything yet. I changed the oil in my wife's RT last night. I was trying to figure out what panel it could possibly be that would be universal and not color matched.

BTW, I did the oil change without removing the mirror and top panel. It was no problem. Just had to pull the bottom edge of the top panel out far enough to get the screw in the right hand corner out and the plastic fastener on the top left. I liked it much better going that route.

Went to my dealer today for a post Owner's Event oil change. They have the new filters but had just received the panel notice and did not have parts yet. She told me to hold it to my next service. No problem for me since they do all the work.

It's the lower black side panel on the lefthand side of the Spyder. The one that screws in near the foot pegs. My guess is they've added an access door or some way to remove that panel without removing the large panel above it... which in turn would also eliminate the mirror removal.

Looks like the panel discussed in the thread here only pertains to RTs. I have a RS and I received the new maintenance schedule with a 40% coupon for some select RS accessories off which I don't think I really need any. It would have been nice if they had offered 40% off on any accessories. Most probably they hand picked a few which do not sell as much. Also this offer expires 5th Aug (in 3 weeks or so), so not a lot of time on hand. I just did my 6K service last month, so I guess I still have to stick to the old schedule and do the next one at 12K.

Thanks.

I got mine yesterday. I do have a question regarding the new oil filter access body panel. I do my own maintenance (oil changes, plugs, etc.). Do I have to have my dealer perform maintenance (oil change) to receive the new body panel or should I be able to just pick one up? If I have to spend money to have them change my oil the "free" body panel may not be worth it.

I know many others do their own maintenance. What do you think?:dontknow:

Larger oil filter question.

Is the larger oil filter cover going to be provided by the dealer if you buy an oil change kit or do you have to have the next change done by the dealer to get it? I'm sure BRP isn't going to put a cover in each kit. Any info?:doorag:

the oil filter cover has not changed, the
oil filter now has steel mess around it.
If you have the SE5 then the transmission filter cover has been changed to hold the longer tranny filter.
Not sure about what is in the oil change kits. My dealer has the new SE5 cover and tranny filter packs available. but note this packet did not contain the o-ring had to ask for it seperately

What model year?

Was there any verbiage about model year?

I see some of you with 2011 RT, does this apply across the line/model year?

Thanks --Pete
