• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lot's of nice slightly used Spyders out there. Depends on your budget and what model you want. Check the for sale and WTB section on this site.

Welcome

If you are using it for your "other" transportation, a good used one is probably the way to go. No sense spending extra thousands if not needed. :welcome:

:welcome:
New, or used?
That is only a question, that the two of you can decide...
But if you are looking for guidance as to the merits of various model years...
There are three available models:
The GS ( later renamed the RS)
The ST
The RT
The RT is the touring model. These came out in 2010
The GS/RS is geared toward the sportbike crowd. It introduced the World to these bikes in 2008.
ST is a bit of a "tweener"; Sport-touring! :D The new kid on the block: 2013!

The awesome nature of the 2014 has produced some fantastic price opportunities on the 2013 and earlier models.. I had both a 2010 and 2012 and both were fantastic themselves. This is the best time I have seen to buy a used Spyder

:welcome:
Should be some good deal on some used ones out there. By the way I'm from El Cajon or use to be. :doorag:

Welcome..!!

to the best place for all your questions about spyders... Love Alpine we ryde up there all the time. We are in El Cajon and it's a nice ryde up and back after work. Janet's cafe has great food. As to what to get... If it is an around town while parked the simpler GS/RS would be fine. If touring a bit the ST would be more comfortable and if planning to use it more the RT will have the storage and best comfort. They are out there. Check for sale here, ebay dealers etc. Hope to welcome you soon to the roadster world. Test rydes will be most helpful and they will grow on you...

I would do a test ride/ or rent one first, till you get the feel of the :spyder2:. And :welcome:Deanna777
