• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Fuel Caps

I have received my gas cap recall today... Funny, I was not aware it was on recall, what a surprise . However I periodically got a whiff of gas fumes, so I guess this new cap will correct that.

You don't suppose it will increase my gas mileage ?

Relax guys, Its only a gas cap, Not a pound of gold.
When it gets there' it gets there! Gee i've been waiting over a year for the radiator cap
for my Tri Glide.

Gas Smell

Yup, same here. Lot more effort to get it to click and a lot beefier. I now wonder if the hot weather gas smell will go away now. Warm here this weekend as well. I shall see.

Well, did 178 mile loop today, temps in the mid to upper 70s. Still have some gas smell when hot. Then again, it's done that from day one.
Nice gas cap though, I like new, free things.

New Gas Cap and Recall letter

I got the letter about the vapor vent hose problem earlier this week. Just remembered to check the mail today, new gas cap was in the box. Put it on and canned the old one.
I have not had any gas smells with the old cap, :f_spider:is garaged and haven't noticed any fumes. My old cap must have been one of those that wasn't bad. New one is bigger and takes a tad more to get a click when closing.

I had my OEM seat redone by a professional who does motorcycle seats recently, added gel pad and we cut the corner of the pan and hinged it to allow me to refuel without lifting the seat. New larger cap fit without a problem. I am due for my 3600 mile oil change, will get the new larger filters when I visit the dealer for that. He recommended I go to 3000 miles before changing to the newer filters. no real need to change oil early just to get the new filter.

I am still evaluating the redo of the seat, and haven't decided what I will do with the BRP comfort seat the redo replaced. Will try to get pictures that show details of the fuel door and custom stiching to share. Tomorrow looks like a good day to take a ride.
