• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

moans& groans

Nobody said anything about groans..... It's the moans and complaints that are being discussed in this thread. :roflblack:
:roflblack::joke:
i thought the moans happen when the spyder breaks. the groans happen when we find out how much it will cost to fix the spyder.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:.:joke:

Guess Who...................

So here is an example of what I was trying to articulate: A relatively new member creates a thread about the excitement and anticipation of riding to Maggie Valley. He mentions not having been on such a long road trip for years and years. You could sense the excitement in his post..........Along comes Mr. Positive and posts this:
understand being nervous if the spyder was as reliable as the Goldwing I would not be but its far from it and I,am leaveing Thursday Morning and only 5 hours maybe drive time and never even thought to take this bike more then a hour from the house due to its reputation it has but I ,ll try it anyway so good luck ride safe and slow and hope it makes it
Guess who? Seriously if you don't get it in less than 30 seconds..................:roflblack: Come on Spyderpooper let all of us that are not nearly as insightful as you have a little fun will you? Don't poop on our Spyder fun.

I have to agree with Butsey. When folks have a problem they should come to the site with it even if there is a moan or a groan embedded in the thread. But lately we have had folks post flammer threads in multiple locations of the site with nothing constructive. We don't even get a chance to understand the issues or what version or year of the Spyder in question. Just a lot of I hate my dealer. I hate BRP etc. This type of posting is of no value to either us or the original poster except as a vent. I can't understand the mentality of folks who proclaim their extreme dislike for the product that they own but continue to own it. Some even use a highly derogatory derisive Spyder name as their username! I just fail to understand this.

NO no no..... The OP was clearly moaning and complaining about other people moaning and complaining. So his moaning and complaining was a different type of moaning and complaining than the other moaners and complainers he was referring to.

Tough crowd around here tonight................

Moaning and complaining

Not sure exactly how to say this but :opps: I do usually get something helpful out of the comments. It is usually in the more measured calm responses from other owners explaining the solution. Some initial threads are the mad, just have to get it off my chest threads, hopefully by the time the last response is in a helpful thread has been posted.

Naw.... I'm only jokin with ya. I tried to portray it was a joke with the symbols at the end of my post. I ment no offense by it.......:thumbup:

Truth be told, every forum is like this no matter what bike, car, truck, ect you drive. You just have to learn what is a valid complaint and ones that are not.

A New Guy Perspective

So have been a member here for about 6 weeks and a :spyder2: owner for the same period of time. If you read and believe all of the gripes, moans, and complaints that show up here, you can get the impression early on that maybe the :spyder2:is mostly bad and certainly shouldn't be trusted very far from home!

In spite of my misgivings about all of this, I am currently 900 miles into a 2500 mile trip with Maggie Valley and then home to Texas still to come. Surprise, surprise....my Spyder is running great, couldn't be any more fun, and it has not left me on the side of the ride one single time. And you know what else, I will bet that most of the people on this site could say the same thing or even more!! Complainers and flamers are a fact of life on the web...opinions are like :cus:, everyone has one.

With that said, maybe we should just try to post five positive things for every negative :cus: - hole comment?? For all of you senior members who post a lot to help us newbies out....thanks!

I'm one of those "moaner/complainers". The type of thread you suggest has already been suggested along with a thread about lousy/good dealers. I don't think it'll fly. My posts are about poor dealer service. Not about hating the Spyder or BRP. SL gives us all a way to vent and when that venting becomes too HOT then the great and powerful Lamont (:joke:) shuts it down. Buttsy, I do like the way you think though.

As long as they keep it friendly.

What!? Somebody's been to the moon? When did that happen?!!! :dontknow:

Have to agree..!!

With you Buttsy. I think the problem is that all the folks who could come on with positive post are out enjoying these fine machines and don't want to be dragged down with negativity. And we all know including the groaners and moaners there are are lot more out there doing great than here complaining.. I feel for those with real problems and stay here in hope of being able to help in some way...gotta take the good with the bad..can't say enough good things about this site it helps a lot of folks.....:thumbup:

.

We the customers (Jerry, Newman, George, Cosmo, Elaine) tend put up with some bad dealers (the soup nazi) because of that awesome soup (Spyders).. :thumbup:

You follow ????????

frabz-NO-SOUP-FOR-YOU-492b39.jpg:roflblack::roflblack:

If it wasnt for us Americans, either would you!:roflblack:

Well, lets see....eliminate the largest market BRP has, along with a certain american firm who came to the rescue of brp to help it survive...I think it's safe to assume without both of those examples, nobody would be riding a spyder.:doorag:
