• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New England Can am dealers just don't seem to want to sell this product :(

I've been trying so hard to get some kind of a deal, not much, but something around here before I venture to another state to buy my Base RT. I called 4 dealers and I had to call every one of them back because they failed to call me back as promised. Not one of them would deal below the MSRP or 24,499. not one!!!

You may know this... but you'll also be traveling to have it fixed if it ever needs it.;)

Sorry, I actually do like the service department there... they were,,,, and I stress were my dealer... Until Dennis I think his name is. Said if you don't like paying The MSRP of 24,499 that's the way it is. I'm not coming down and I'm not taking off the Dealer prep charge. If you can get a better deal in another state, then do it. Yep, that was yesterday's answer... Now I must say that my sales guy was awesome and I felt bad for him.

And HK hasn't called me back since Monday :(

Did you try HK in Hooksett or HK in Laconia. I'd give HK in Hooksett another call and ask for the owner. They have always been really fair to us on service and purchases. We brought in print out from ebay to prove what others were going for in other states, etc... To help us bargain.

We bought orginally from Freedom in Concord - pinned Hooksett against Concord dealer and got the better deal. We use HK for service now unless they are packed. Sorry that Concord was willing to deal..

REALLY ! ! !

You may know this... but you'll also be traveling to have it fixed if it ever needs it.;)
:dontknow:....This may be the case for you...............But if you " Make the Dealer an Offer He Can't Refuse ",.....To quote M.Brando ...all things are possible........................Also it's the law , they have to service it , they are BRP dealers......and if they want to remain that way, they will service your Spyder...........Mikeguyver

:dontknow: :lecturef_smilie:...I tried to buy a Spyder from Chris He decided To pass me off to the Sales Manager Mike .....I was up front ...told Him I was price shopping ....He told me, what He would sell me a Basic RT for ....I told Him I could get it for $ 2500 less else where........Then He says ....." WELL IF YOU DON'T BUY IT HERE ....WHEN YOU COME TO GET IT SERVICED YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT A VERY LONG TIME ".......I then asked Him if BRP approved of this type of sales tactics.....He said He didn't care ..BRP doesn't know what we do here. ! ! ! .............I said ........( wait for it ).......Well they will ..because this conversation was taped.....and I plan to mail it CUSTOMER RELATIONS .........There was a very long bit of "dead air " ....................So I just hung up...:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:..................Mikeguyver

I had almost word for word the same conversation with a local dealer here in Ohio. It blows me away to think that they think they can bully people into buying from them at a higher price. Although it happens all the time. I have read several post on this site about people paying more to have "local service". I drove about an hour further to buy mine and have it service locally. Before I took it to the local dealer for service I called the services manager and had a talk. I told him what was said, explained that I would have bought from them had the price not been $2000 more and straight out asked him "am I going to have to deal with this s#!t from you too or are you going to treat me fair". He said without a hesitation " I have nothing to do with sales and sales has nothing to do with service, bring it to me and I will take care of you". I dropped it off the next day and had it back a day earlier than he said I would. So the moral of my story is don't let the sales guys bully you into buying at a higher price based on service. When it comes down to it they want service dollars just as much as sales dollars. If you build a good service relationship with them then you should be good to go.

Went from Greeneville, TN to Tampa Bay Florida for my Spyder. 723 miles (one way, of course). It was just part of the adventure!

Sounds like the dealers in your area are going to be trying to unload 14's about this time next year.... :ohyea:

Nothing more than what Bob said. Some dealers can be jerks and put you last in line with service or parts.

Not sure what your state's laws are, but here there is not any laws forcing a franchise dealership to work on anything. This remains a somewhat free country yet. BRP's dealer contracts do have something to say about it; however private contracts are not the law.

In addition, BRP is not capable of having their arms around every single customer transaction or experience... so dealers can do what they want to a degree; and some do; as I am sure you know or have read about many times.

While it is great a few owners have bought their machines elsewhere and get service at another dealer; it is not always such a cozy-relationship for others.

I had purchased my 2014 from a dealer about 75 miles away because they were the only one that had one and also gave me a great price. :yes:I recently needed to get the 3000 mile service and called the closer dealer where I had purchased my 2013 and the first thing that they asked was if I had purchased t from them. I said no because they didn't have one when I was looking. It was going to be thee weeks before I could get an appointment so called another dealer just about 10 miles farther way .They didn't ask where I had bought it and said to bring it in and he could do it that day.
When I picked it up it was $465 3hr labor @ $110 hr $95 or oil and filter. So screwed either way. :banghead: I will definitely go some place else for future purchases or service.

THIS IS A TRUE STORY

Vermont " known locally as " The Stealer/Dealer from HELL " has screwed me over, committed Fraud , stolen money, damaged my Spyder etc...........some people would attempt to handle this legally.....I know better.......The owner of this establishment now wonders why all his LUCK has turned to S**T............He was given the opportunity to rectify the problems caused by His employee's but chose not to..................He even knows who was His tormentor ..............But there is a saying in the legal community ...." it's not what you know ....it's only what you can PROVE "............Mikeguyver

Read between the lines...

:agree: In a case like this the offending dealer will probably try to play the punishment game. Can't get you in for three or four weeks because they are so busy. Sit on it for a week or more before getting to it--too busy again. Have to order parts--another week or so. Etc., etc, etc.

I just noticed--:yikes:--some dealers are like this anyway. :yikes: nojoke

Sales & Service are two different departments ...................they may not even know who works where :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I bought my 2012 RS from Bob's Ski Doo in massachusetts. They were great. They do my service too.
I bought my 2012 RTS there and the 2014 Rt base. As hard as I tried could not get him to come down on msrp, but did get him to come up on the trade. Family owned and operated, and great folks.

Been buying selling cars for decades and IMHO....this is probably written in stone somewhere :gaah:......In the auto / truck / motorcycle sales business you won't get a DEAL on both ends if there is a trade involved ..............Not gonna happen , the Dealer feels they are doing you a favor, and He now has to sell another vehicle.................If you really want to get the BEST price ....sell your vehicle privately, then go into the dealership with nothing for THEM to bargain " against you with " ( and this is exactly what they do , NO BS )..........Good Luck on your next Deal....    .......................................Mikeguyver
