• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

If that wasn't clear that the new DPS is AWESOME then allow me to describe what I believe to be the most definitive points of consideration:

1) On a mountain back road (that we frequently use to avoid 4 lanes of bumper to bumper traffic all the live long week) which has a speed limit of 50, I found myself unable to do more than 40-45 before the new DPS. After the new DPS however, I zipped across the same road doing 60-65 and was thoroughly PISSED when I had to slow down!!!

2) Making lane changes is so unbelievably...automatic...you'd swear you were on a 2-wheeler.

3) I frequently find myself over-correcting because I keep forgetting that the resistance is no longer there.

4) Leaning yourself into turns is virtually no longer necessary.

The new DPS is way beyond worth the minor hassle of taking your Spyder in to have it installed, and it's even better every time you remember that it was FREE. The Spyder really and truly feels brand new again, and with the new DPS it behaves exactly as it always should have from the beginning.

I actually feel sorry for anyone out there that ultimately decided not to buy a Spyder because of the steering. I am thoroughly convinced that they are now missing out!

Geoff.

I find the new DPS light, accurate and with just enough resistance for a feeling of control. Love it!

New DPS

Just got a call from my dealer an hour ago, going in on Tuesday for the update. It does sound like I won't be building up as much upper body strength with the new DPS.

:agree: Talk to Jason...
(Did you buy from them, Bob?)

:2thumbs:
Only since 1987, I can't count how many machines my sons and i
bought from them. If they ever went public I'll invest in there stock.
When Ron see me or any of my Sons walk in the door I'm sure KA-CHING
go's through his mind. Also the members of my hunting club bought at
least 15 4 wheelers from them over the years.

I am still waiting on a call from the dealer to get our 2 Spyders taken care of as well. Fortunately we haven't had any problems with our steering, but with all of these good reports I am starting to get a little anxious about having it done. There is another dealer who is having a huge shindig this Friday and Saturday, I am going to give them a call Friday morning to see if they happen to have any new DPS units in stock. Can't hurt to ask.

Ron is a heckuva nice guy, and an even better salesman for sure! I bought my Grizzly from him, and he made me an excellent deal when I traded it in on the Spyder... I've probably spent enough money down there with him that I should list him as a dependent on my 1040 form:roflblack:...
Hey! Their restaurant is finally open too! It's time to stop in and check out the food while checking out the next toy! :D

DPS replaced

:2thumbs:I had my DPS replaced on Monday. Trailered it back home after just a short ride in the parking lot. I noticed a very nice difference on steering pressure at low speed. Carlo called me on Wednesday to follow up on previous emails. I had not had a chance to ride any distance at that time. Just finished a nice 30 mile ride at freeway speeds. No more hanging on for fear of sudden lurch when changing lanes. Tracks true without a death grip on the bars. Hopefully everyone will soon have the replacement and be as happy as I am with the preliminary results. :ohyea:
