If that wasn't clear that the new DPS is AWESOME then allow me to describe what I believe to be the most definitive points of consideration:
1) On a mountain back road (that we frequently use to avoid 4 lanes of bumper to bumper traffic all the live long week) which has a speed limit of 50, I found myself unable to do more than 40-45 before the new DPS. After the new DPS however, I zipped across the same road doing 60-65 and was thoroughly PISSED when I had to slow down!!!
2) Making lane changes is so unbelievably...automatic...you'd swear you were on a 2-wheeler.
3) I frequently find myself over-correcting because I keep forgetting that the resistance is no longer there.
4) Leaning yourself into turns is virtually no longer necessary.
The new DPS is way beyond worth the minor hassle of taking your Spyder in to have it installed, and it's even better every time you remember that it was FREE. The Spyder really and truly feels brand new again, and with the new DPS it behaves exactly as it always should have from the beginning.
I actually feel sorry for anyone out there that ultimately decided not to buy a Spyder because of the steering. I am thoroughly convinced that they are now missing out!
Geoff.
