I recently heard from a fellow Spyder folk that there's a new dealer in my area. Central Coast Yamaha. (They also sell Suzuki, Polaris/Slingshot, and other products)
They are a relatively small dealership with a good local reputation.
So, yesterday I went in and verified this to be accurate. They signed the paperwork April 1st. However, after signing the paperwork the owner has taken ill, so it's kind of stalled for the moment, and because of that there's been no publicity or roll-out etc for now. At this point they have one Spyder mechanic (unknown what certification so far) and one sales guy whose trained on the BRP line. Neither of these guys was available for me to personally speak to when I was in there.
However, they have been a first rate small dealership so I do expect good things.
The biggest reason I post this is for those that travel, you have a new resource should it become necessary. Since Hwy 1 is in our backyard this will be the only dealership that I know of between Los Angeles and the Bay Area. So if you're passing through Santa Maria, be sure to stop into the dealership and at least show the flag so we can encourage the brand and their decision to carry our products.
