• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just sold my 2012 rt last nite and thinking of buying a left over 2014rt, is the 2014 a better bike as far as maintence service intervals go? Any help please and thanks in advance.

nojoke It is Worlds apart from your 2012...
Here is a chart that shows the difference in maintenance scheduling for the 1330 and 998 bikes:

Bob has you covered..

...Apples and Oranges ---- no comparison between the two cylinder and three cylinder engines --- 5 speed and 6 speed transmissions --- NO heat issues --- list goes on and on. Love my 2014 (now if I can only get it out of the shop)

You will love the 14 and yes it is much less expensive to maintain since the intervals are much longer between services. Go for it!

There you go...!!

a picture is worth a thousand words...you will be most pleasantly pleased....:ohyea::ohyea:

The short answer is: go for it.

A few things different:

Quieter
Smoother
More Low End Torque
Much longer oil change times.
Breakin at 3000 miles. Oil changes after that, 9,300 mile interval or once a year--whichever comes first. A lot are changing the oil sooner--just because.
No valve inspection service required.
Have been NO major issues with the new configuration.

Here, I am going on 13,000 miles in one year. Two oil changes, one rear tire, and no issues.

MAINTENANCE

The fact that the 1330 engine does NOT need the $ 650.00 valve check with or without adjustment every 14,000 miles is HUGH....JMHO......Mike .........actually the 1330 doesn't need it ever !

Just read all of the comments from others and I agree with everyone! I traded my 2012 RT Limited for a 2014 RT Limited and have absolutely NO issues. The 6 speed and the 1330 engine make a huge difference. My advise: GO FOT IT.... and you will have thousands of smiles and miles!
