• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My name is Aaron, I'm 34 years old living in Pompano Beach, FL and I just bought my first ever Spyder (never driven a motorcycle, this is thrilling enough for me so far!) and I really, really love it.

So far I've learned how to wire customer accessories and installed front A-arm LEDs, a patriot flag LED on the back, and will be adding a Garmin 396 GPS this weekend. It came with this cool front bumper, a pedalbox pro (which was a huge game changer when I figured out how to set it up), floorboards, a signature front LED light, a cupholder that I removed (I am not ready for distracted driving yet!), and maybe some other mods I didn't know about at first (like the pedalbox).

I really never thought I would get anything like this as I've always been afraid of driving. It's been an amazing thing for my mental health and self confidence to conquer this fear and enjoy south florida the way it was meant to be enjoyed - outside! I love how this thing is Miami colored, I love the way the LEDs make it glow, and everybody seems to smile when they check it out. Though I rarely drive my car now, my car driving confidence has also improved since getting the Spyder.

Looks like nice ride. I like the "gun metal" color. Those floorboards will be nice on some longer trips. If you have not been on a motorcycle (or spyder) before some motorcycle skills reading or video's might be a good idea. Most of can give tips like head on a swivel, or watch for the wheels to stop. But you may not have any idea what we mean. Be carful and enjoy your ride.

Welcome! Since this is your first motorcycle, I would recommend taking a training course.
I took a Basic RiderCourse 3-Wheel through the local organization of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.

@greer update on the GPS: WOW! That was a MAJOR project. I ordered a Garmin Zumo 396, had to get the faulty power cable replaced by Garmin (great customer service btw), realized I needed a different mount, so I ordered an (expensive but worth it) Lamonster Zumo mount for the billet. After many days of failing to even start, the task to take apart the majorly stuck billet and replace the previous owner's cup-holder billet bolt with a suitable socket bolt replacement, that I eventually found at a home depot, was just as daunting. I'm so green that even identifying the right tools for this required the help of 2 different repairmen in my condo.

After all is said and done, I accidentally repositioned the handlebars slightly too high, but that's fine for now. This project has taken weeks of many hours of fiddly labor and I can wait to fix it, maybe even with a real auto shop this time. That said, this thing is awesome, it's a way better GPS than every review seems to make it out to be. Maybe I don't have a point of comparison, but the Zumo 396 is better than my Android and iPhone. Maybe there's a new software update.

The click off stand makes it easy to lock the Zumo up in my frunk with my helmet whenever I get up. The Lamonster Zumo mount looks stylish and logical for driving. All around a challenging installation, but well worth it.
 
I hear you. And we've all been there, Aaron. So many projects are easier said than done 🤬 but sooo gratifying to set your bike up just the way you want. You're less green now, and get to enjoy that GPS every time you ride. Way to go!
