New 2021 RT Ltd... And a couple questions

Bought the wife a new RT Limited in the asphalt gray color. Beautiful bike that she loves. I do have a couple questions and appreciate your feedback.

1. Regarding headlights, are the low beams actually only the outer "bars" and the inner 4 more traditional shaped lenses only high beams. It just looks and seems odd to me.

2. Anyone have or had the wider brake pedal? If so how do you like it? Does it interfere with foot resting position when not applying brake?

1 yes 2 no but did put lamonster floorboard risers on for wife and another lady also put stock f 3 bars on both they love them both

Lights: the high/low beam is a combo light. There is a shutter that closes off part of the light for "low" beams. High beam raises the shutter for the whole light to be visible to oncoming cars.

Brake Pedal: there is an extended brake pedal available from a number of suppliers. I bought one from Spyderpops and one from Lamonstar Garage (both SL vendors). One on each of my F3L's. They are also available for the RT's.

I have the larger brake pedal and love it. I also have the lamonstergarage floorboard risers. With both of those installed, it fits my driving style. Before I had to lift my foot off the floorboard to break. Now I just rotate my foot like I do in my truck. I didn't put the brake pedal riser on. I didn't really need it.

First thanks for the reply! That's why I love this forum. I am asking about a 2021 RT Limited.

The bike does not appear to have a shutter. An entirely different set of lights come on when high beams are turned on. I am working so can't now, but I will send pics of high and low beam lights when I can.

I have seen the larger brake pedal. Before I invest in one, I want to get some feedback from others who have used or are using.

Look at pg 25 and 126 of the operators guide. Have your wife start the Spyder and switch between high and low beams and see how the high and low beams project. Page 142 says both high and low beam are LEDs.

I have a '20 RT - same dimensions as your '21. I'm 6ft 32in inseam and I use the outer space on the floorboard next to the brake when I stretch my legs forward so a wider pedal would restrict my leg placement.

Sorry about the bad information on the 2021 lights.

RE: brake pedal...I like it since I have about three times the extra space (wider) to hit the pedal when braking.

I took my OEM brake pedal turned it sideways and Marked it drill it and tapped it and reinstalled it works like a larger pedal

You have sorted the lights issue. Like RayBJ, I am a taller rider and have mocked up the wider pedal on my ‘21 RT. It would definitely not work for me as I ride with my boot alongside the pedal and the wider model pushes my boot off the board. I imagine riders who ride with their boots behind the pedal would have zero issues.

I installed foot pegs to reconcile that issue. I like my legs more stretched out. I only use the boards when they get tired, but for the most part, the foot pegs are a more comfortable ride for me.
