• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New 2014 ST overheats

Hi,

I just picked up a brand new 2014 ST LTD and it overheated leaving the dealer parking lot after only 3 km of driving. Ends up the coolant was only 50% filled. I am concerned by the damage that may have been done when the engine hit 257 degrees. Are my concerns valid?

Doubtful from that little use...

I would not worry about the engine being damaged by heating up to 257 I would be
way more worried about what else did they not check or forget.
Keep a log of everything on it just in case you ever need to refer back to it
should problems arise... Good Luck

When dealer tops it off, get a written record of the incident. IF problems arise in the future due to the overheat issue--you have documentation.

:welcome:

 These fluids are (I think!) pre-filled at the factory... :dontknow:
I wonder how this could have happened?

It leaked out while being stored....The OP has more problem than just needing a refill. It was full when it left BRP.
