• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New 10.25 screen update on Oct 7, 2024 - What new features did it add?

Just got a note about a new screen update we can download and install today?
Has anyone tried it?
Does everything including Apple CarPlay still work properly?
What new features did it add? The email really just says Apple CarPlay functionalities, fixed radio and media issue, and stability improvements.

Thanks

I tried about an hour ago and got the "Your software is up to date" message. I'll try again later

I got the same email message this morning. Out of an abundance of caution, and since I use Android, I think I will wait and watch for some good or bad responses from other folks. I also am wondering if my version is already updated. I just took delivery of my 2024 RTL in August.

Once again BPR has sent out an update earlier today for the 10.25" screen. Went out to the Spyder to perform the update and it said, "No update Available".

I received an email this morning from BRP that there is an update for the 10.25" screen!

Same email, same result.

I'll keep waiting and watching hoping that someone is able to post that the update is actually available.

Don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but there's a new version of BUDS2 out today. It wouldn't surprise me if you needed BUDS to install the update. I don't have a 24 to try it on...

If BUDS2 was required, they should have told us that in the email we received this morning rather than giving us a link for how to do it ourselves.

But, I realize that's me expecting BRP to do the logical thing and I should know better. :)

ONLY the 2024 Spyders have the capability to download updates by the WIFI on the machine. Does Not require BUDS2 to do this on 2024 models only

Weird, just got the e-mail this morning about an update available for the 10.25" screen as well. Went and checked for S&G's but there's no update available. The article linked in the email is dated September 2024.

I have a theory about this latest email update notice. I think the update they are referring to is the very same one we all got back in April. That's why we are not seeing an available update when we finally make a wi-fi connection. We already have the update. What they are trying to do is encourage every Spyder owner who hasn't yet installed the update for whatever reason to get this done. Perhaps this is a precursor to a genuine new update which might require that the previous update be installed first. Don't know. Just my best guess at this point. I'm not going to bother checking for updates until I get something reliable from BRP.

I wonder if the update sends a VIN or other bike ID back to BRP when it's downloaded/installed so they can track who is already updated? Back when the first release came out for about 1/2 day, I actually got it installed then. I got a call 2 days later from BRP asking how I liked the new update. I had to tell them that you already pulled it back, so I really can't comment on it. But they seemed to know that I had gotten it somehow.
