Need Paint Code For 2014 Cognac

I'm getting my R-622 trailer color matched to my new RT-S and I need the paint code for 2014 cognac. Does anybody know it, or know where to find it on the bike? The paint shop can't seem to get the information from BRP. I found a thread about alternate sources, but I'd prefer to use the same paint used by the factory.

Little checking..!!

get in touch with BLUEKNIGHT911 he has a off the shelf color that matches...

Thank you gentlemen. I rode to my dealer today, and after a good 15 minutes on the phone with BRP in Canada, he gave me the PPG code 937659. I took that to my paint shop, and he had already done some research and found the color B284, Alloy Orange Metallic. It was a perfect match to the bike. He said BRP told him that they weren't certain the color could even be matched by them, and his tech's research showed it as originally being used for aviation applications. Nothing is ever simple! In any event, thank you all for the assistance. BTW, the four small decals on the trailer that will need to be replaced total $58!

I'm curious as to how much paint your guy thinks it will take. And how much will the BRP paint cost ????......Thanks , Mike

Mike, he's not using BRP paint and I'm not sure what his source for the color was, but the four inch sample he gave was a perfect match when laid on the frunk for comparison. He might have said a pint was needed, but that sounds like too little to me. The paint job is costing me $925, and for that he's stripped the trailer of all lights and hardware for the prep, and will be painting the inside as well. It seems that the original paint requires a seal coat of some sort too.

I have a friend that did the same thing and his cognac trailer turned out great. You would never know it was a 2010 RT622 unless he told you. I hope you have the same results.

COGNAC PAINT FOR TRL

OK, in your previous post you giving codes numbers that I thought were BRP numbers.........I found a paint that I used on Deanna777----'s dash surround and many people have said it looked like FACTORY cognac color.......Paint was made by VHT and could be bought in 10/12 oz. spray cans or pints or quarts ( possibly gallons also ) model number was SP 402.......and your painter is correct about a sealer coat to protect the new paint from the OEM paint......someone here forgot my advise about first primeing with a plastic primer paint and it alligatored ..... and you are right , a pint isn't going to do it........But the good news is the paint He's using costs far less than BRP's.....$925 seems high but labor costs vary ......good luck......Mike
