Need to buy new rear tire. What size and type kumho is everyone using? Can't seem to find 255/50 r15
Thanks

You are searching the correct size for the Kumho. It had been rumored that these tires were to be discontinued, but I believe that is NOT true. Do a search on Discount tire direct. All of there distributors are showing them "on order". I went there today and you can indeed order them. Your best bet is to order 2 at a time and do not tell them you are putting them on a Spyder. A few weeks back I purchased 1 Kumho and informed them of the Spyder, now I hear they will not sell it to you if that is what you are installing it on.:dontknow:
I think you may also find some for sale on Ebay, but you will probably pay more than Discount tire.

.......................Yes that size works fine ....No issues with the Nanny..............and your speedo will probably be more accurate ......Mike :thumbup:Correct size is 225/50 r15 my mistake ended up ordering a 215/60 r15 should be very close in size
Thanks
You have to lie to Discount Tire Direct or they won't sell them to you. Say it's for a Tacoma.

...........It will be extremely close ............too close really ............I used some very small plastic plumbing tubing ( 1/4 inch id ) and cut 1/4 inch spacers and slid them over the bolts between the bracket and the fender ..........worked great ..............The RT has plenty of room ...................Mike :thumbup:I think I remember someone posting that tire does not fit on a GS/RS, ST with a stock fender. Please let us know how it works out.
Yes the 215/60/15 size works very well and the speedo is almost right on with the GPS
Just placed an order with discount tires for 2 said was for a Tacoma. Order went through and said nothing about backorder wait n see
Is the 215/60/15 a wider tire? How doe it compare in ride and handling on the RT? Just curious, I just purchased my 2013 RT Limited last week; I don't need tires yet, but I want to be prepared. Thank you!
There are NO problems using a 215/60/15 size tire on an RT, don't know about the ST or GS. It has no clearance problems, it does not bother the nanny, the tire may be slightly taller and a little narrower but it works fine. Yes the speedo is very close to what the GPS shows now.View attachment 96350
It's a bit narrower, and a bit taller...
Check for fender for vertical clearance before buying this tire!
A 205/60-15 would be MUCH closer to the OEM size, when it comes to tire diameter...
