• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

You are searching the correct size for the Kumho. It had been rumored that these tires were to be discontinued, but I believe that is NOT true. Do a search on Discount tire direct. All of there distributors are showing them "on order". I went there today and you can indeed order them. Your best bet is to order 2 at a time and do not tell them you are putting them on a Spyder. A few weeks back I purchased 1 Kumho and informed them of the Spyder, now I hear they will not sell it to you if that is what you are installing it on.:dontknow:

I think you may also find some for sale on Ebay, but you will probably pay more than Discount tire.

correct size

Correct size is 225/50 r15 my mistake ended up ordering a 215/60 r15 should be very close in size

Thanks

.......................Yes that size works fine ....No issues with the Nanny..............and your speedo will probably be more accurate ......Mike

So if you buy 2 tires and don't tell them its for the spyder but take the tires to them to install, will they still install it since they see it's a spyder?

Small Town Perks

I just finished putting on my 3rd rear tire. The Kendra lasted 11K, and the Toyo Proxes 4 lasted another 15K, but still had a bit of tread left; just not enough to take off on a month long ride up north starting on Friday.

Last Friday I asked one of my local Michelin dealers if he could get me a 215/60R15 HydroEdge. He checked his puter and found one in Daytona and FedEx delivered it to his shop Tuesday. A local independent MC shop mounted and balanced it this morning for $38, and that include a $4 disposal charge.

Then yesterday I checked with another Michelin dealer here in town and he found me one in Indiana, at $145. That tire should be here on Thursday and no questions asked by either place as to why I only wanted one obsolete tire.

The one from Florida had a build date of "0512", which from what I've heard was about the time Michelin discontinued that model. I'll find out tomorrow how old the Indiana tire is.

I love small town Kentucky.

STOCK FENDER

I think I remember someone posting that tire does not fit on a GS/RS, ST with a stock fender. Please let us know how it works out.
...........It will be extremely close ............too close really ............I used some very small plastic plumbing tubing ( 1/4 inch id ) and cut 1/4 inch spacers and slid them over the bolts between the bracket and the fender ..........worked great ..............The RT has plenty of room ...................Mike

Yes the 215/60/15 size works very well and the speedo is almost right on with the GPS

Is the 215/60/15 a wider tire? How doe it compare in ride and handling on the RT? Just curious, I just purchased my 2013 RT Limited last week; I don't need tires yet, but I want to be prepared. Thank you!

Just placed an order with discount tires for 2 said was for a Tacoma. Order went through and said nothing about backorder wait n see

They will not process order without listing a vehicle this tire will fit. Do some research first.

It's a bit narrower, and a bit taller...
Check for fender for vertical clearance before buying this tire!

A 205/60-15 would be MUCH closer to the OEM size, when it comes to tire diameter...

There are NO problems using a 215/60/15 size tire on an RT, don't know about the ST or GS. It has no clearance problems, it does not bother the nanny, the tire may be slightly taller and a little narrower but it works fine. Yes the speedo is very close to what the GPS shows now.
